Follow-up question to you all that answered (seriously, just this once): How many of you drink Diet coke? If you raised your hand, do me a favor and stop for a week. You might be surprised at this.

Now it all makes sense. My mom is a diet coke addict and does this kind of stuff ALL the time. She is well known for it.

Hmmm, I do that once in a while, and I DO drink diet soda (pepsi.) I have heard that aspartame causes short term memory loss- have you tried this (giving up diet coke) and found that it improved your memory?

That happens to me all the time. Sometimes I have to go all the way back to where I started out to figure out why I left there in the first place.

My goodness, yes, all the time. I am very forgetful, however...sometimes I'll be in mid-sentence and forget what I was talking about. Kind of sad, when you think about it, since I'm only 21. I don't know what I'll do when I'm elderly. It might be interesting.

I spend more time in the "here-after" than I do in the present.
Like what am I in here after?

And what does Diet soda have to do with it?

I put no cal diet sweetener into my coffee each morning.

Yep...they're called Senior Moments...although no one is exempt. I have also looked for my sunglasses when they were on top of my head, made lists I'd forget to take with me, and leave directions to a destination at home.

I have that kind of short term memory all the time, not going down stairs, but doing other chores.

Diet coke has aspartame, and memory loss is one result. Don't believe me, google it!

This is something that seems to happen to most people.. I am fortunate.. I can claim "Old timer's disease." It results from lack of concentration as well as other thoughts going thru your mind, to block out that main thought...
