Simply "eating less" and "working out" is not always the solution. Also, record your weight each day. Set a goal, a light goal. Don't set one with the bar too high. Remember, you are doing this for "health reasons". Your health is important.

Also, ask yourself these questions:

1) are you sleeping on a regular nightly basis, without much interuption? Your system needs regeneration, and in order for your metabolism to stay on track, you need sleep.

2) are you drinking enough water? If you urinate, and it is yellow, you are dehydrated! You need water for matabolism!

3) how often do you eat? "Eating less" is not always the key. Portioning your meals, from say 3 medium meals, to 5 small meals a day keeps your metabolism on it's toes all day.

Some extra tips I have, that have worked for me personally:

1) If you are not getting enough nutrients in your diet, try a daily multivitamin. If you are a female, try a female formula, or a formula that is tuned for weight loss help.

2) Try apple cider vinegar capsules or pills. This is NOT a drug. It is only a natural ingrediant. It helps break down fat, and starch, so it passes through your system, without being absorbed in the system, as body fat.

3) Drink atleast 8 small glasses of water a day. Like I said, water is essential to your bodily functions.

Since I have been doing these things, along with taking a walk each day, I have been loosing 2lbs a week. This may seem like a slow pace, but remember, if you loose at a slow pace, you create a habbit for yourself, which you will follow, even after you reach your desired weight. This mean you will always be in good physical condition, and you are more likely to keep that weight off. So good luck with all of this!

I think you eating less is the problem. Your metabolism is confused and doesn't know where to distribute the food. If anything, you should be eating more frequent, smaller meals, preferably veggies.

I lost 12 pounds in three weeks and all I did was cut fast food out of my diet and hit the gym every other day for two hours working on cardio and just about every muscle group in the body. And never lose your motivation. You may not see the changes, but working out does change you. You'll have better health benefits like you'll have a slower resting heart rate (good thing), you'll be able to breathe better and easier, things like that. Don't give up. Good luck.

It is not just eating less, but also what you eat. I was in a car accident and had terrible injuries so I can not exercise. I lost 11 pounds in 3 weeks because I had to change the way I eat to lose the weight. I started eating a lot of greens (asparagus, string beans, spinach and other dark greens, veggies (carrots, celery, cauliflower, etc.) , fish, sometimes, chicken breasts (not a lot). If you will eat rice, make it brown rice, don't eat any fried foods. Instead of fried egg in the morning, make it a boil egg. Eat cottage cheese, instead of butter, drink a lot of water and stay away from reg. soda. Also, drink 4 to 5 cups of Green Tea per day. Try to have about 4 small meals per day and in between, you have snacks like the yogurt or a banana. Try to buy things with no sugar. There are a lot of snack now with no sugar and they taste good. Don't stop exercising. Also remember, the same exercise does not work for everyone because everyone's body is different. Try different exercises to find out what works for you, but have patience because it all takes time. Good luck.

I would like to know how you've been training, But if I had to guess I would say you have been training your muscles and then not feeding them to grow.

If all you want to do is burn fat walking is the most efficient way. That's what bodybuilders do and you had better believe they know what they are doing. You could get a heart rate monitor and keep your b.p.m around 120 for no more than 45 min. That should just be a fast pace walk.

If you are training for strength make sure you eat enough. When you burn all of your carbs away your body eats the muscle instead. Don't forget protein like grilled chicken and tuna they are both low in saturated fat.

I try to keep my weight up(195 Lbs) by eating 20 to 30 grams of protein in my fairly large meals every 3 hours. My girlfriend eats smaller meals every 3 hours she is 5'-10'' and 140lbs.

How do you feel? What sort of results are you looking for? You won't be losing weight because you are converting fat tissue to muscle if you are exercising correctly. I would say 5 x a week is too much - 3 x at the most. Personally I would take up a more active lifestyle and drop the gym unless you are training for something specific.

OKAY. thats where the worlds gone wrong! Eat more. Lose more. You dont starve yourself to lose weight. Lets use this as an example. If you throw in one big log into a fire, it burns up and then goes out. If you keep throwing small peices of wood into a fire it'll go on forever. Same concept. The motabolism needs to keep working throughout the day in order to keep burning fat. Three hours after its fed, it goes into starvation mode. So in order to speed up your motabolism you need to eat more GOOD HEALTHY protien based foods every 3 hours.

Im a figure competitor for NPC bodybuilding competitions. You can see my pictures on my 360. Im also an herbalife distributor. In order to see some quick results you really should take my word. Even eating a healthy diet you wont be getting enough nutrition. Your body needs 160 nutrients a day. Your lucky if you get 6 or 7!!!!!! With herbalife it covers all nutrients that your body needs with formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix and Formula 2 Multi-Vitamin and Cell Activator tablets. An example of what you would need to do for quick results would be this.

3 times a day take your Multi Vitamin and Cell Activator tablets.
(When you get hooked on the product you can order the other great tablets to help your motabolism and energy level)

2 times a day drink a shake.

for either lunch or dinner eat a colorful meal. (protien like chicken, steak, or fish, carbs like rice or a potato, vegetables and fruit.)

and in between your meals have snacks! We encourage a healthy snack like our protien bars or even a fruit.

If you would like more information message me. =D

Hi, I have the same problem, but I have found that if I make small changes instead of trying to lose a lot at one time it works for me. For instance, I grab an apple when I start getting hungry. I try to eat 5 small meals throughout the day instead of 3 big ones. I like water so I drink a lot of water. If you don't like water try using crystal light lemonade or diet raspberry tea. I use more than it says because I like it stronger. I eat a lot of fruit I think this really helps and I like it. I hope this helps . don't give up sounds like you are doing all the right things. I know they say don't count calories but I find it helps me stay on track of what I am putting into my mouth. Good luck and my God bless. Juan M

It is possible that you are now eating too little. Depending on the intensity of your workouts and the amount of food you may not be getting enough calories and so your body is holding on to the extra weight. The other thing is if you are weighing yourself muscle weighs more than fat and you might not notice a difference in the numbers. Try using measurements as a way to see changes in your body. You might be surprised where you lose inches in a month.

From experience, I know how frustrating this can be. I've been working out for an hour a night since early February, while noticing very little physical progress. The only thing that kept me going was how good working out makes me feel.

Finally, in the past month, I've noticed huge improvements in my body--my legs are more shapely, my mid-section has slimmed, and I'm finally starting to tone my abdominal muscles. My advice is just to keep it up. Soon you'll start noticing improvements.

Good luck!

Your not going to see major results probably for 3 to 5 months. This type of stuff takes time. And if you gain a little weight, do not get scared, it's just the muscle that building up. Muscle weighs more than fat.
