The Harry Potter series is fictional.
The Holy Bible, regardless of translations or interpretations by man, was Spiritually inspired. The Holy Spirit of God influenced the writers of the various books of the Bible. It has many styles of writing - narratives, reports, poems, songs, prose, quotations, parables, history, biography, stories, etc. It is filled with truths and instructions about life and living, God and man, sin - and from beginning to end, our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is bread - daily nourishment to the Christian believer. It can not be completely comprehended, like reading a normal book, without the help of God's Holy Spirit. Much of it must be spiritually discerned. It is the greatest book ever written, with more copies sold than any other book in history.

This question has already been addressed. But for your edification I will repeat. First, internally the Bible claims to be God's word. Many times in the O.T. the authors write what God has spoken to them. Usually beginning with God spoke, said or some similar language. See Numbers 10:1, 11:1, 12:1; 1Samuel 16:1; Isaiah 1:18 just as a sampling, there many others. Paul states explicitly 1 Timothy 3:16, that the Bible is God breathed, He used men to communicate His message of love. 2 Peter 3:15, tells us Paul's writings are from God. Revelation 1:17-19, John is told to write these words. Externally, the Bible has been vindicated over and over again through archeology. the Black Stele that contains the Code of Hammurabi, pre dates Moses life. Many critics had discounted the early date of the 5 books of Moses(Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy)
Stating that writing did not exist at the time of Moses, but the Stele proved the critics' assumption wrong. The Mari Tablets, the excavation of Mari which is situated in the Middle Euphrates began in 1933. Mari was one of the most important centers of the Northwest Semtic life of the patriarchal times.(Abraham was a patricarch) In 1936 many thousands of cuneiform tablets dating mostly fron about 1700 B.C. throw light on the background of the patriarchal traditions of Genesis.(Albright) There is the historical Joseph of Genesis, A picture of visiting Semites may be seen on the wall of a tomb at Beni Hasan which comes from a time not far from that of Abraham.(Burrows) Remember, the Jews are Semites. This only covers the Old Testament, and there is more evidence. The New Testament is also well documented, for example, Jesus' home town of Nazareth. In 1962, during excavations Michael Avi-Yonah near Caesrea, two pieces of a three piece fragment were discovered . It is known as the Nazareth inscription, since it is the first known inscription citing the town of Nazareth. Further excavations show that modern day Nazareth had been inhabited before Roman times, although it was an insignificant village. I'll repeat one from the last time concerning Pilate. Two Italian archaeologists excavating the Mediterranean port city of Caesarea that served as the Roman capital of Palestine. During a dig they found a two by three foot inscription in Latin . Antonio Frova reconstructed the inscription it read: Pontius Pilat, Prefect of Judea, has presented the Tiberium to the Caesareans. Capernaum, where Jesus healed the paralytic lowered through the roof(Mark1:29-34), it would seem likely that Jesus' home(insulus) was a complex of many rooms, often used for extended families of Peter's mother-in-law(yep, Peter was married). Just such a structure was discovered in Capernaum. It was customary in the Byzantine period for Christians to build an octagon shaped church over a "holy place." The remains of such a church from the 4th or 5th century had been excavated at Capernaum. Directly beneathed the church wwere the remains of a structure(an insulus) that revealed continuous occupation from the time of Jesus to the time the church was built.

Well, since God created the person who wrote the Harry Potter Stories, I would say God's book would be far better roadmap for your life than a book on young teen witches.

Most of the Bible is verifiable through solid, empirical evidence. What isn't has never been successfully disproved. Harry Potter is a work of fiction.

Why in the Harry Potter series do so many characters wear glasses when they can use magic to fix broken bones, to regrow bones, and to close bloody wounds? I mean you would think that they could wave their wand and say a few words and presto perfect vision.

Because there is historical evidence to prove the reliability of the Bible. No book in history has been scrutinized and tested for reliability and found to be more true. The # of manuscripts, archaeology, etc.
