I have some sort of fatty pocket right over my left rib cage. If I press down it feels squishy. I'm not quite sure what happened or how it got there. I don't know if I injured myself or what, but it's been there for over a year. I don't have insurance and right now I can't afford to go to the doctor...anyone else with the same situation..should I be concerned?

Well, if it were a tumor it would get larger wouldn't it? It hasn't..it stays the same.

It doesn't matter that you don't have insurance. You are going to have to pay out of pocket. The reason this is important is that it could be skin cancer. If it is, and you catch it early enough, then curing it is trivial (they just cut it off). This will cost money, but it will hardly break your bank. Make an appointment to see a dermatologist. They will likely cut it off and send it to a lab to be tested for cancer cells.

If you wait too long, then there is a chance of the cancer spreading. Once it dig down through your skin, something like that will likely kill you.

Make an appointment tomorrow and probably have no problem whatsoever.

Put it off and likely die.

Obviously, you should make the first choice.

Tumors can stay the same size for any amount of time. You should really go see a doctor. Your health is more important than money.

There's usually free clinics for poor people in the city. You should definitely have that checked out. It could be a tumor, it could just be a fat pocket, and may be nothing to be concerned about.

Get insurance and go to the doctor or find one of those hospitals that will treat poor people free. I have heard of those kind of hospitals before. Maybe they're not in every city.

it's not good to be playing guessing game with all the disease going around the world - you really should have a doctor take a look at it - you'll have piece of mind at least knowing what and where it came from not to mention get the proper treatment - can't you apply for MIP?

It may just be a result of not exercising the left side of your body as much as the right, resulting in more fat but otherwise I've never heard of this before.

you should be able to file a form at the hospital to get relief as far as medical payment... i'd have it checked out you might also be able to have it checked by a college students studying for the medical field. you might also see if there or any places that go by your income for medical help.
