Here's a thought. Spend the money on better front speakers and "fade" it forward. You really don't need rear speakers, to be honest with you. In fact, most purists would have you just disconnect the rears, even if they sound ok.

Look, stereo audio is ONLY left and right.

If it were my money, I would get the best possible front speakers that I could afford (that will fit install location) and tweak the install a bit for some better sound (possible speaker baffle, leak sealing, dampening material in key spots, etc.)... then, save up for a decent amp to send those decent front speakers a bit more juice.

I'd also caution you to avoid buying a brand/model based on someone else's recommendation. For your ear, the best thing to do is drive around to all the car audio show-rooms in your area with your favorite CD and demo all the sets of speakers that fall within your budget and go with the ones that you, yourself, enjoy the sound of the most.

It doesn't hurt to discuss what people liked about certain speakers, because that will help you learn what to listen for, or questions to ask, or what to research when you are ready to go out and audition some sets.

Sounds to me like your budget is really what's limiting your sound upgrade options. Hope this helps though.

Pioneer makes decent speakers. Eclipse. JL.

Ahh come on HiAmp- it is his system. Let him do what sounds best to his ears. I personally agree with you thoug. Only thing going in the rear speaker locations in my Eclipse is going to be some mid-bass.

Go to www.crutchfield.com, and click on "What fits my car?"
They'll tell you exactly what fits. Get the best pair of Pioneers that you can afford & that will fit. You'll love em.
