My dog is a one year and eight month old masife (I total don't know how to spell it. The kind of dog that is off of Turner and Hooch) and he is really nice dog but when he sees kids or anyone outside he takes off and trys to attack them. he already bit one kid awhile ago. My mom's boyfriend told me to start walking him but i'm afraid if i do he'll get loose and bit someone again. Is there anyway that i can walk him without him getting away. Remember he weights 144lbs. And he is very strong too.

Hire an in-house trainer to work with you. This could cause you serious problems, since mastiffs are huge, and could probably swallow small children in one big gulp. Right now, he is a lawsuit waiting to happen, and an in-house trainer will be able to help.

If he's too big for you, he'll just drag you along. If you use a choke collar, he may turn on you, and you'll end up missing an arm. Try in-home training. They work wonders, and they're not as expensive as a lawsuit or medical bills for a bitten child...

The main reason why your dog acts like that is because you haven't been walking him. If you don't walk him, then he'l never be socialized with other people and other animals and will treat all of them as enemies. (Trust me, I got this from a dog trainging book) The more you get him exposed to people, then the more friendly he will become. Ask someone who's strong enough to handle him to come with you.

Walking him and getting him around kids(and hopefully used to them) is the way to go. To help with this get what i call a "pinch" collar. It looks sorta like a choker, but does not come with the danger of killing the dog, it simply pinches the neck when they pull...

A choke collar is a good idea for a dog of that size. Check your local pet supply store and tell them what you need. Obedience classes are also a really good idea. Dogs are pack animals, and they want to obey the leader of the pack; you just have to show him that YOU are his pack leader, and learn how to make him listen to you.

a mastiff is not a very friendly dog when it comes to strangers they tend to only like their owners and are very protective i would not recommend walking the dog in public because they are so strong and get away from you good luck

Your dog has already been rewarded for aggressive behavior-he got to bite someone. Biting behavior in such a big dog is dangerous! TAKE HIM TO DOG TRAINING IMMEDIATELY!!!

Train him to not bite people, and hold him back, and if he stays back give him a treat. Do this repeatidly until he cathces on that its wrong. I hope that helps and see if you can answer my question, look on my profile it should say it.
