My friend is 31 and her boyfriend that she loves so much is 24 years old. They' ve been in a relationship exclusively for 3 months, and were almost inseperable. My friend got a little irresponsible a couple weekends ago by mistake and didn't pay for her car payment (her car was a lease). It got repossessed. She's strapped for cash, her family is very unsupportive and unloving. Ever since this has happened, her boyfriend seems to give her cold and hot signals, he seems to have withdrawn from her and she doesn't know why, and she's really sad. The strange thing is he texts her cellphone and talks to her on the phone once a day to say "I love you" or "Have a good day". He also talked to her recently and said he would co-sign to help her get a car. Well this past weekend he ended up trading his truck in and bought himself a new mustang. Is he stringing her along? Is he the one being selfish? What should my friend do, hold on to him or let him go? She says she would be more hurt without him

This does not disguise her as me.

He probably expected a little more responsibility out of a 31 year old woman. Missing a car payment isn't a great sign of independance. I know it would bug me if the girl was younger than me, probably even worse when dating older women.

It's ok, you dont have to say "a friend," we all know it's you, but maybe you should hold on to him...u say he calls regularly and it seems he cars a great deal, how about talking to him about the situation and see what happens, remember communication is the key to a good relationship...=)good luck hun....

If he says he was going to do something, but didnt do it, he isnt worth staying with. She needs a man who will stick by his words and wouldnt with draw from her every time something bad happends to her. And tell her she will be even more hurt if she stays with him cause all he sounds like is empty promises.
