I don't know exactley how long. But it can't be any longer than you're contract is. Like i signed with the marines, Haven't been to Basic yet, But i signed a 4 yr active and 4 yr inactive. So i guess i could be there for at least 4 years. And another 4 yrs if theres a national emergency.

it depends on your unit. Some are gone fot 6-7 months, other units go for a whole year. Many units/battalions are also being sent over 2 or 3 times in 1 enlistment (4 years).
