They have expedited processing of passports in US Post Offices but it will cost you at least double of what you would usually pay. (still not more than a coulple of hundred dollars)

you might see if you can get an appointment at the NYC passport center. the phone number is shown below. also be sure that your visa is in order. you may need another appointment at the Indian consulate in NYC.

I went into the Passport Office in Miami, Florida, and had one in 48 hrs...it was an emergency..if U go direct to an US office U can do it...Post office is 6 weeks, other services I don't trust..I dont no the City U live in has a US office.
