sweety, your only a teenager once, dont waste it on trying to get boyfriends, do teenager things, at your age i still thought boys were gross, sometimes i still think that actually, dont be afraid to be an induvidual, you can be totally cool and not have a boyfriend, if you learn to enjoy being single you will be become even more wanted, and the more time you take to examine boy behavior which will probably change a lot between now and college the better equipped you will be to meet and date someone who actually respects you and understands you, remember you only get one first kiss so make it special atleast wait till your 16 your mom knows what shes talking about, she's been there, patience is a virtue, right now the only thing you should have to worry about is learning how to apply make up and keeping a diary of your daily acomplishments and mis haps and all that fun stuff so you can laugh at it when your older, you can have a boyfriend now, but let me tell your gonna regret it, boys are mean and stinky and at that age he will never put you first, his buddies will always be more important than you, so yeah why not be the stuck up girl everyone secretly wants to be and show those boys there not worth your time its the game of hard to get... works everytime

Please dont be in a hurry to grow up. Those changes come all too fast anyway so dont wish for it. Your problem is normal and one that every 13 year old goes through and somehow we all managed to make it or you wouldnt have been able to ask this question. Besides as any 16 year old will tell you bfs are a pain in the butt and not worth the time of day. You should consider yourself lucky that your Mom will let you date at 16, I told my youngest she cant date til the year 2023 and shes 18 now, but like most teenagers doesnt listen to her parents, but has also found out that bfs are not worth growing up for but she cant go back in time. So enjoy being 13 and carefree, it really is the best time of your life. Wait and see! Good luck

That's tough. I have to admit that 13 does seem a little young for a serious boyfriend, but I understand that it doesn't feel that way at the time at all.
Is there a boy in particular that you want to date? Or is this a general prohibition? If there's a particular boy you like who likes you, see if you can negotiate with your Mom. Can he come over to your house when she's home to hang out (like you would with any other friend)? Can you go out with a bunch of friends where he is among them?
Note - I am NOT saying lie to your Mom about what you're doing. Seriously! Starting dating as young girl can be WAY too confusing, so you don't want to start lying about it. Trust me when I say you really need your Mom to be there for you through your first love and first heartbreak, so you don't want to lie about it.

You need to show your mom that you are responsible enough to have a boyfriend. Act like a grown up and you'll find out most parents will treat you like a grown up. Talk to her and make a deal with her. Start doing extra chores and doing positive things and you should have a positive outcome.

Just wait. three years isnt that long. Having a boyfriend isnt all that. You dont need a boyfriend at the age of thirteen. It's just plain stupid, all in my opinion. But by all means, just go behind her back. Many people do that.

You don't need a boyfriend at 13. You don't need to rush in to having relationships with boys. At your age you can be good friends with a guy hang out with him. You can even go out with him an a group of friends to spend time with him. Believe me you have plenty of time to have boyfriends.
