Believe it or not, they are here to learn about Jesus and God.
That is why they are on this site.
You see they read the answers.
Believe it or not, what you read does sink in. Your brain is marvelous. It is the greatest computer ever designed.
Men will never be able to create a computer so sophisticated as the human brain.
It's storage capability is way beyond what we can create.

No, I believe that I'm human. One small individual in a web of life stretching back well over three billion years on this planet, possibly further back even, there is the possibilty that some of the original semi-life systems formed elsewhere and crashed into earth on meteorites.

As to answering your question about the density of atheists here.... the use of a computer requires critical thinking (depending on what you use the computer for, at least). This self-selects for individuals more prone to thoughtful review of presented knowledge. As a choice to believe or not believe is done intellectually, as opposed to indoctrination (believing because that's what you were told to believe), it is logical that there will be a higher percentage of atheists in the online world than in the general population.

Also, the internet is a great equalizer. It brings together people who would not otherwise hear the other side. So you may be seeing a high percentage but only because on the internet, in mixed communities like Answers, you are closer to their voice and so hear their words.

There are many more religions than Christianity and Islam. These two religions are greatly outnumbered by the others--many of whom have various religious beliefs. Who are we to question their belief systems?

[By the way, we're not monkeys: man, monkeys, chimpanzees, gorillas, bonobos, and orangutans all sprang from a common ancestor, perhaps 25 or 30 million years ago. Evolution is not a theory, as some people think: it is a proven fact.]

Athesists in one way or another believe in themselves and more in reality than those in something being preached by someone in the name of somebody.

There won't be much athesists if religious missions were successfull, take for example Islam brought peace amongs warring Arab tribes but a heap of sorrow and destruction outside Arab world.

Religion made sense really 1000 years back but for today when humans are thinking really wide(talk Global warming), its not neccessarily a book to guide you, I think human has walked past a long way from that era

When you say "here" do you mean on Yahoo Answers? I think it's because non-religious, non-nut-balls are more likely to be able to read and write, and operate a computer!
And, yes, I believe that I am just a monkey! Monkeys seem a lot smarter than fundamenalists of any religion! At least they understand "masturbation."

The question misses the point.

There are lots of people here who believe in God or a superior being but it is religion they don't believe in.

Obviously not all the religions are right !
So its safe to conclude that in all likelihood none of them are.

So if none of them are right then God didn't create religion.

Well then who did ? Either humans did it or the Devil did it.

If the Devil did it then all you Christians, Muslims and Jews are going to Hell and the agnostics are going to be at the right hand of God.....with all those virgins and the good stuff !

So I think people of religion should
REPENT REPENT REPENT before it is too late !

Do you think this will get best answer ?

You are a very evolved monkey. C'mon chappy, don't you know that the computer is evil. Why else would so many godless people be roaming around this mysterious, mythical place called the net. How about you ask the real questions...Why do we eat monkeys when there are plenty of racoons in the wilderness...

I don't think they are atheist.I think they are agnostic that believe science can answer everything. But science is a means to an end.The end to belief in GOD.PEACE!!!! And not to be stereoptypical, but why is it always caucasians who believe we evolved from monkeys. While original man is always liked by GOD.It puzzles me.And the belief of evolution only existed about for 200 years thought up by a man named Darwin. And his GOD is not a monkey. I am a hanif-muslim.SALAM

My guess would be that more atheists are encouraged to be vocal because they are in the minority.

We atheists do not all say the same thing.

I do not believe that I am "just a monkey." I don't believe that I am a monkey at all. I do believe in evolution.

The prince of this earth, satan, is influencing as many as he can to make all the confusions and discord that can be made. Any thing that can add to confusion in the minds of honest seekers can keep them from the truth of God's Word and receiveing their Salvation... So satan influences all he can to spam as much as possable and in any way oveload any hope of honest discourse... that is being done very effectivly on the internet and particularly on Yahoo which is anti Christian to begin with.

those you speak of show up on all "religious", and particularly Christian, sites.
