Dig, last I checked, those people have nothing to do with enforcing constitutional law. That is the Supreme Court, a non-partisan branch of government.

Randy, Thankfully abortion has been legal long enough to improve the procedure. They don't look like the 'silent scream' anymore. You're welcome

gerrygollw...it has been upheld by every conservative court since. How sad that presidents have appointed justices based SOLELY on their stance on abortion, even though they can't overturn it. What a waste of an appointment.

no, the silent scream is NOT a first trimester abortion, and their ARE other methods bsides surgery for abortion. STOP SPREADING PROPOGANDA!

Because reasonable people can tell the difference between fetus and a three year old. If mothers get a abortion do you think they should get the death penalty. It is a philosophical issue not a legal one that is why it is legal. I am not preaching to you because I know you asking this question from a Pro Choice point of view. I am preaching to everyone else who think they can force their Religious views on me.

Rach says don't kill the newborn unless you were raped, if she thinks there is a newborn in the mothers stomach why is it the new Born's fault she got rapped. Some of you guys have a twisted way of thinking to justify your own belief. I would think someone who claims to be Pro-life would not discriminate against a "new born" who is a product of rape but what do I know.

Slavery was legal, too. Did that make it right? The Supreme Court also said at one point that blacks were not "persons." Were they correct? Of course, the Supreme Court was wrong then, and they are wrong now.

By the way, the abortion procedure shown in the documentary "The Silent Scream" (narrated by former abortionist and former NARAL head Bernard Nathanson, MD) is the exact same first trimester procedure used today. See http://www.silentscream.org

Take the "If" off of the beginning of your question, and you've got the question that those who are pro-life (including myself) keep asking themselves.

Honestly, though, it's not illegal because there is some debate over when "life" actually begins in the womb. Therefore, you have the debate over whether aborting the fetus (or whatever developmental stage it is in) is actually taking its life.

Myself, I say give the innocent child a chance at living life. If the mother does not want to support it or can not support the child, adoption is the best course of action. There are many loving couples out there who can't have their own biological children. Give them and the child a chance to be happy and loved!

Abortion should really be only used to to the extent necessary.

MEaning well LEt's say that there is a "two-headed baby" example, well I would say (if it was me) I would want to be "aborted" out.... meaning that is not at all how I would want to live. this day in age we have teh ability to "see things" prior to a birth.

I just had a brain spur ~ imagine our science get more advanced where we have the ability to "fix" a baby while it is in the womb/growth chamber.

but say we don't have the ability, well like I said if I was "grossly mutated" I'd want to be aborted.... I believe in LIFE in a way that, well perhaps I woudl come back somewhere else single-headed so to speak.

But what if I had to live a life "mutated" in order to get "back to normal" meaning what if I did something WRONG in one of my lives and that was the penance/persecution?

Sorry for going on like this but I've thought about this on 'levels'

Whether abortion is murder or not depends on your moral standpoint. You ahve to define for yourself where the life of a person starts. To me you start being a human/ a person, when you realize that there is a world around you.
Besides here in Germany abortion (hope I remember this correctly) is illegal but it cannot be punished. you break that law in a way but dont get punished for it. there are a lot of other regulations and stuff involved with all this though.

Abortion is legal because both party between the guy and girl already agree and signed the document. Is really bad to abort a child but if you think like this if the girl been raped or she is only 15 years old will they be happy after the kid is born ?

Good question. If you were under water and someone grabbed you by the head with forceps crushing your head simply to pull you out you would scream silently just as a baby does on a sonogram during an abortion. Good question??? sounds like murder to me.

abortion is taking a life from the womb and throwing this baby away all in the name of "rights" Too bad that aborted baby doesn't have any rights, because if one could ask and the child could answer the reply would be life. Just look at you. Aren't you glad you weren't aborted.

I'm pro choice but i do think abortion is murder but i'm still pro choice because i've never been a 13 yr old girl raped by her father or been a first time mom having to choose between my life and my unborn childs so i dont point fingers and say everyone who has one is wrong but i do believe abortion is taking a life

I don't quite know if you ar being sarcastic, humurous, or serious. I will take it as serious. I do not think it is...there is nothing wrong with abortion. People abort bacteria and other whatnot all the time, but that's not against the law. A person's body is their own, and the government sure as hell isn't going to tell me what I can and can not do with it.
