I very much appreciate all the great recipies. The reason I need to use a crockpot, is we live in a tiny apartment Less than 900 Square feet, So any time the oven is on, it heats up the entire apt. Our balcony is to small tp grill on, Per Apt managers, no grilling less than 10 feet from building, our balcony is only five feet wide. This has been a huge adjustment, having moved from a house that was 2500 square feet with a perfect patio (my husband was transferred here) thanks again.

These are sooooooooo good!!!! We all love these

Coca Cola Baby Back Ribs Recipe
You can substitute the Coke with your favorite beer also.

2 slabs of baby back pork ribs
1 18 oz. jar of your favorite barbecue
One 2 liter bottle of Coke

Place the meat in a large pot and pour in Coke. Simmer on low heat for 2 hours. Remove ribs and spread barbeque sauce on both sides. Arrange ribs on a pre-heated grill set on high for 8 to 10 minutes, turn and let cook another 8 to 10 minutes. Remove ribs from the grill and let stand for ten minutes. Spread sauce on both sides and serve.

Tips for the best Baby Back Ribs

Spray with secret spray (see recipe below)
You may also spread a little sauce on the ribs at the same time. Let marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
Put ribs on the grill, but not directly over the flames or coals. Always use indirect heat for cooking everything. Close the cover on your grill. In the oven, use 300 degrees.
Spray with secret spray every 15-20 minutes, when you turn the ribs.
If the ribs are thick they should cook 90 minutes for baby backs and 2-2 1/2 hours for spare ribs. Always use a meat thermometer and get the meat at least to 170 degrees or higher.
Spread the ribs with sauce about 10 minutes before they are finished.
Pour more sauce on the meat at the table or eat plain, depending on what you like.

Secret spray for meats

My best friend gave me this recipe he uses to keep his baby back ribs moist while on the grill. Try it, it really works!

1 part vinegar, 1 part lemon juice and 2 parts water. Wet the meat and refrigerate sealed for 4 hours or overnight if possible. Spray the meat every 15-20 minutes during cooking. Baste the meat with plenty of barbecue sauce the last 10 minutes.

No. Crock pots cook with steam. But you're on the right track by wrapping them in foil. Coat the ribs in barbecue sauce and wrap them in foil. Put them in a 275-degree oven with the seam in the foil side up. Cook them for 2.5 - 3 hours. They will be fall-off-the-bone tender. Remove the foil and grill them for about 5 minutes per side while brushing on barbecue sauce (careful not to burn the sauce completely).

Not in a crockpot... However you can just boil them first then on low heat to the BBQ in a pan with a bit of water in the bottom... Make a Good BBQ RUB to rub on it... right before serving use some BBQ sauce... If you want to wow him... Make your own there are tons of starter recipes like Tony Romas BBQ Sauce you can find online. Your husband will love you but might get embarrassed you outcooked him on a BBQ LOL

Foil... "NO"

Cook them in a marinade of Worshestershire Sauce and Soy Sauce.

1/4 cup Worchestershire Sauce
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
1 cup water
(add a tablespoon of Smoke Sauce for extra flavor)

Mix together and pour over ribs in Crock Pot.

When almost done.... pour liquid off and add your favorite BBQue sauce over ribs and continue cooking until done.
Meatr will fall off the bones.

Little hint! Add about 2 Tblsp. of white vinegar to your rib sauce. Let them slow cook all day. The vinegar will cause the meat to be so tender it will fall off the bones.

truthfully, for me, a crockpot is not the way to go here......i prefer:....preheat your oven to 250 degrees....put them in a pan, cover them with foil....(indirect heating makes them tender and the secret here is 250 degrees....not any higher)...but you must invest time....slow cook them for about 8-10 hours....approx. of course, it depends on how your oven is.....check them periodically with your fork to see how tender the meat is....if you do this right, the meat will fall off the bone.....(and i live in nyc mind you, not texas)....lol

No, do not put foil in the crock pot, it is essentially doing the same job that foil would do in the oven.
