Yes.

A lot of taste conneseuirs state No for one and one reason alone: the biggest thing about eating a nice, well served, steak is tasting the "surprise" bites - a specially juicy steak, or a somewhat smokey kind of bite. Etc; which can only come from the way a cow was raised - what it ate, how much stress it had, etc.

That's a load of bull.

Seeing as I will *never* go to a philadelphia steak house and spend 300-500$ on a steak, I don't give a damn about the "off gray smokey taste of a steak raised in Ohio during the warm spring of 05"

Thus, if they could grow a bunch of meat - which would lower the cost of beef significantly (if mass produced); it would greatly increase many social benefits. The rich can still pay 500$ for their fancy steak, who cares.

Plus, honestly, unless all you eat is fruit you grow in your own back yard - you're getting all kinds of things MUCH more disgusting than scientifically produced food.

Apparently you haven't tasted a cheeseburger at McDonald's lately. I don't know what their source of meat is, but it most certainly is not cow.
