whats next, are we going to teach kids how to put on condoms in class? or open up public nude beaches, show partial nudity on broadcast TV, and allow women to walk around topless all day long if they want? we're turning into europe as we speak, why not abandon all our religious values

and i dont care that the teen pregnancy rate in europe is half that of the united states, or that the rate of sexually transmitted infection is fifty to a hundred less than the united states. i don't even care that the US is by far the leader among the western world in both catagories. its about right and wrong, and i dont want to see us lose our religious values

so what's you're saying is that you're closed minded and don't care about evidence that proves that another way might be better. I don't usual answer this kind of questions but I just read an article where many readers found a picture of a woman breastfeeding a child on a magazine on babies offensive. Which just totally boggles my mind.

Sex, is a beautiful thing. The human body is a gift from God which is also beautiful. These are both natural and shouldn't be things we are ashamed of. When you are, seriously it will just in my opinion make life more difficult for yourself as these are natural function and if you find shame in them you will not be able to face or talk about them. Maybe the article was right and we do have a large Puritanical streak in America.

Your second paragraph makes me think you're being sarcastic. I find it hard to believe anyone would be so consciously dogmatic and blind. Still, some people are, I've found. Especially in the U.S.

If you are being serious, and you know all that stuff but still believe what you believe, it seems a little pointless to point out to you that by turning sex and sexuality into something dirty, something to be feared and covered up, you're breeding a generation of children who don't understand and can't cope with their own desires and bodies. You end up with a whole generation of psychologically damaged children who are incapable of functioning properly in the modern world.

The last time we saw the religious values you seem to be speaking about would be the Victorians. Look what they did to the world! Invading countries, raping, pillaging, genocide, mass industrialisation, enviromental distruction . . . all coming to a head in the First World War. Is this seriously the blueprint you would have for your perfect society?

Sex talk is nothing compared to what happens behind the scenes in any country. Sex is a very natural part of life, and over the ages it has been suppressed in people, often at times people believing that it is evil. Especially during the '50's, america wanted people to become righteous, religious, chaste, working and humble folk. Many religions suppress sex, but I believe that if you have sex, talk about it and suppress promiscuity instead, it will become a healthy and more accepted act. However, doubtful that it will happen, chaos seems to have us in quite the grasp. You don't need to be quiet about sex if you are religious.

So you'd just rather us be anything but Europe. So who cares that other countries are doing it right - we just need to go back to the dark ages, make sure all babies made are pushed out, all glbt people are burned at the stake, make sure women are again second class citizens - along with anyone of color, and make sure that the highest law of the land is a member of the clergy.

See, I think you religious zealot types need to just leave the US and create your own country. Preferably an island far - far - far away from the rest of progress and civilization.

Sounds nice, but the plain fact of the matter is that we lost our religious values more than a century ago, dear. About the time the robber barons became this nation's role models.

Getting stuffy about sexuality won't repair the damage.

So we might as well have a care for the kids' health.

Where have you been? They DO show kids how to put on condoms in Health Class (on broomsticks, banana's, etc... not on an actual person)... there ARE public nude beaches... and they do show partial nudity on broadcast TV (Look who we got our Hanes on now...) come on... get with reality... this has been going on for years and you're just NOW noticing????

You can keep your religious values... to yourself.

Well thankfully America does not own the Internet. So we can have all the free speech we like. Too bad you are a narrow minded idiot that has been raised to believe that nudity and sexuality is sinful.

Because kids need to learn in school so they dont go try it on their own. They dont teach them to do it cuz its cool, they teach them how to abstain from it!! And notify them of the deseases they can get and what to do if you need help. Have you ever thought that some parents dont tell their kids **** about sex, so if they dont learn in school were else are they gonna learn. It sounds to me that you want a bunch of uneducated children running around sexing it up and not knowing the cosequences. Where would we be then??? Huh???? I hear alot of complaining from you, but you yourself dont have any ideas on how to fix things. All you do is ***** ***** *****~!!!

We should teach kids how to put on condoms in class, great idea. Abandoning all our religious values even better.
