I haven't seen much of an increase in the number of people who respond to questions like that but then again I'm not that big on checking the R+S category so I wouldn't exactly know the situation too well.
Obviously the psychological reason could be the heightened tense between different religious viewpoints, especially those of different religions in general considering modern conflicts throughout the world in general. The more people hear about religious battles the more they'll focus on it in their everyday lives and that translates to heightened tensions even on here.
The religious motive is, as I said, the different viewpoints and beliefs. One religion may believe that they are the only religion that is correct and try to force it's view on others and then you have the battle. Why we have to fight over such blatant issues is beyond me.
And lastly, one does not score points by reporting people's abuse of either the CGs or the Yahoo! ToS but it does clear up Answers' servers since it is less data that must be stored. But the abusers do lose points, sometimes 2 for small things or sometimes I've seen people lose 10. And of course your 17 digit tracking code that comes with all traffic from your computer can be either suspended from use of Answers or it can be permanently rejected by the servers. But the occupation issue is just when people happen to run across questions or answers (or even comments) that they find is either violational or is an attack on either them and/or their religion or just offensive.

They're just stupid people who cannot accept the answers they are given, probably b/c it's an answer they don't want to hear.
These people are NOT "open-minded" enough to respect all opinions!
They ask a question and can't adjust to the answer!
Yes, I think it's the "religious" people who act this way, which IS sort of weird b/c they are "supposed" to be Christians.
I am "religious", but have a VERY open mind and accept the answers I get.
Actually, I've never asked a religious question, but if I did, I'd know to be prepared for ANY answer!!!!!
GOOD ONE!!!!! Have a great day!

Uhhhh...you certainly have a spin on this.
There are questions that are inappropriate and offensive (there is such a thing, you know) that are posted. They have obscene or offensive content and have no use but to offend or cause a negative reaction. I don't suppose that is ok with you, is it? There is a decency motive - too bad you have to narrow it down to being religiously motivated.
Additionally, it is against the guidelines of this site which are there for a good reason.

I hit the report button fairly frequently. The most common reason I give is "Not a question or answer." I get irritated when I click to a question only to find out it's not one.
The psychological reason is that I am attempting to use positive reinforcement to affect people's behavior.
There is no religious motivation
I do not receive any points for this.

The propensity of certain Answers users to report others simply because they disagree with their viewpoints is deeply disturbing. At least if they are dumb enough to announce "I'm reporting you", the person they reported will have some idea who reported them. Of course, sometimes, that leads to vengeance reporting and an ugly cycle of "gotcha". Some things need reporting (obscenities, racist rantings, solicitation of minors, etc.) and those should just be reported anonymously. There's no need to bring yourself to the attention of these hateful sorts of people. But the misuse of the report abuse privilege may have to lead to some sort of restriction on its use.

Many people come into the religious area just to post a flimsy criticism of Christianity, or try to cause trouble between Muslims and everyone else. Those type of questions may need to be removed to ensure that this site runs as smoothly as possible.

If they report someone and it is clearly just personal prefernce, then the YA staff will ignore it. If it violates community rules, then it's correct to report it. Letting askers know that questions aren't appropriate is how this forum "polices" itself from people who only want to spout off, not have legitimate questions and answers.
I get worn out by all the not just foul, but disgusting language I see all over YA, in all categories. I report the worst of those when I see them.

I'm reporting you! J/K
There are guidlines for reporting a question or answer. We have every right to report abuse. Those reporting are not the ones making the final decision, just bringing something to yahoo's attention. There are times when reporting abuse gets abused. However, there are times when it is needed. I have reported someone for something extremely offensive and obscene. I have every right to do that since that is a catorgory for reporting someone. However, Yahoo will make the final decision. I don't report someone for disagreeing with me. That is stupid.

Some people are so involved with their questions(no life) that they will only accept answers that they agree with(closed minds) especially those involving religion or race, and if the can find a way to report someone else, the answer they don't like(censorship) is removed and it makes them feel that their own opinion is the "right" one.

Perhaps the people facing the reporting are not following the rules, though I must admit, some Muslim reported ME because he didn't like my short and succinct answer to his ramblings about the swellness of Mohamed and the dirty Christians. People should be reported when they are blatantly not following the rules, but some people are going too far.
