I'm discerning a call to religious life. does anyone know of any Catholic missionary orders that wear the Habit and have a devotion to Mary?

In response to this question: "it's your call, but why, and why a catholic ministry? i only ask because i've seen some so called catholic do gooders that will only "do good" if you convert to christianity or catholicism. that to me is not doing good....it's increasing your flock by blackmailing people in misery. please think long and hard about this. if you sincerely wish to help people, you could simply join the peace corp or something along those lines. good luck and you have a wonderful heart. "

I was born and raised Catholic. as for religious life, I have been thinking about it for about 3 years, and I believe it is right for me. I do not want to be an evangelist, but a missionary. To me, a missionary is there to help the poor and the abandoned and to live as the poor do.

Missionary Sisters of Charity - Mother Teresa's order.

Sisters of Charity - mostly in Europe and Africa.

Little Sisters of Charity - Southeast Asia.

Marionite Mission Sisters - Near East. Mostly stuck in convents because of the unrest over there.

There are other orders but they no longer wear the full habit, just the veil.

Don't know.

Make sure you do research. Some Orders have become too liberal. Just compare what the Jesuits used to be like to what they are now...

The Jesuits have become too soft, they need to return to their old fashioned ways if they expect to survive.
