Especially if my goal is to "get lucky" on first dates?

No more appropriate than "getting lucky on first date." I guess if that's appropriate to you, so are tight leather pants.

1) Skin-tight leather pants are NEVER appropriate.
2) It is not really appropriate to "get lucky" on a first date. Have some self-respect.
3) Invest in some leather pants that actually fit rather than make you look like a hooker.

skin tight leather pants were barely appropriate in the 80's throw them away

Are you kidding? Skin tight anything is always appreciated.
Leather may be a little passe, but who cares? You, and nobody else, is dressing you, right? So,if you want to go for "hot", then it's up to you. You dress in the way that makes you feel good about you, and sends the message you want to send.

I see no problem with it. When I met my fiance, I had on a leather mini skirt.
