Start dropping hints that you like him.
Talk about him a LOT
She will get the hint.... then after a little bit just tell her. If you know him from church she will most likely approve of him over another guy she doesn't know.

Tell her. It's better she finds out from you than some gossip at church. That way, she can also trust you. If you lie, she can't and is likely to make you stop seeing him. If you show her it's on the up and up, he's a good guy who goes to your church (hopefully he's a good guy), then your honesty and maturity will show her you're ready for a boyfriend.

You're going to have to have your 'first boyfriend' infront of your mom eventually. If you're truely not comfortable with calling him your boyfriend to your mom, just call him a good friend. It can be a transition to boyfriend and will buy you some time since she'll be seeing you two together at church.

moms ALWAYS find out. That's if she doesn't already know. That also happens very often. Don't worry about it. You'll always be a little girl for her, and that will never change. But you DO grow up, and your interests DO change. It will take a while to your mom to assimilate it all.

Sure. You should always be honest with you mom when it comes to relationships, because as much as we hate to admit it, mom knows best. But definitely tell her. She would probably be appreciative of the fact that you were honest with her, and the fact that he attends your same church.

Dont hind things from your parents. Some day you will see way. If you have to hide it then its not worth it.

Your mother needs to know that you have a boyfriend. My question is why you wouldn't want her to know.
