I was in Kroger and went to the deli. The lady that waited on me had plastic gloves on which I thought was good. I asked her for a pound of turkey and a pound of cheese. She looked for it and had to go to the freezer in the back to get it. Meanwhile, there was a spraying cleaner over the whole floor (which was clearly in the air from the smell) and then he started to spray with a water hose. This was in the back behind the counter where the food was being handled. The lady was walking back to get the turkey and put her hands on things to keep her balance - trash can, counters, door handles, etc... I expected her to change gloves when she got back but she didn't. The guy was spraying water and cleaner all over everything! She even took the whole block of cheese out of the plastic and handled it. When I got my 2 pounds of dirty, germ infested meat and cheese, I said "Thank you" and proceeded to LEAVE them in the dairy refridgeration and didn't purchase. I won't go back. Was it wrong?

No. People who work in the deli need to be sanitary and keep their higene and handling clean. I would've done the same, but next time just point out to them that they're handling food while their handling gloves have been in the wrong places. And if they make problems about it, then report them. They can get fired for being careless like that.

No you really weren't. What that woman did was vulgar. That really disgusted me. I'm surprised that they haven't had people come back to the store complaining about being sick from the food there! You did the right thing.. if it were me I would have even complained.. but you definetly did the right thing, and if you hadn't done that and you had eaten it, it would have made you sick, so don't worry it was good what you did. Hope I've helped.

God bless.

If you are talking about leaving the meat and cheese in the dairy section, it WAS wrong but I would have done it too, so don't feel too bad.

no--she has contaminated her hands and wearing her gloves
is useless. you should report that to the store manager, because she is in violation and the store could be penalized by the health dept.
