There are several places where it says man-on-man sex is a sin (like Leviticus 18:22), but can't find anything about woman-on-woman.

Leviticus 18:22:Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, ... nor abusers of themselves with mankind ... shall inherit the kingdom of God

Romans 1:26-27 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another ...

Only Romans 1 mentions lesbians ... and these are not words of Lord, or Chirst, but Paul, who didn't even meet Christ. ...

If you want the words of Jesus only (because you do not regard Paul as a prophet of God as such), then the only other place that I can refer you to is Mathew chapter 19, verses 1-12.

The scribes were asking Jesus a question about no-fault divorce, and Jesus goes off on a tangent and discusses why god made sex in the first place. Jesus expressly stated that sex was intended to be between a male and a female, who were married to each other, only. Anyone who could not handle that should remain celibate (literally, a eunuch).

I usually just read these posts for the entertainment of it, but I am too bothered by ignorance and misinformation to not reply to “SpreeBee” and everyone else that insists on quoting Corinthians and Romans:

Passage 1 Corinthians 6:9:

Where do you read anything about homosexuality? I’m pretty sure the original question was asked as a joke but the responses just reminded me of how little people are willing to look at the whole picture and accept the warped interpretations of a few with an agenda. I can’t begin to count how many times I’ve heard, “Homosexuality is a sin… It says so in the Bible!” They are referring to Leviticus 18:22:

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination

Those words are spoken as if to say homosexuality is an unforgivable mortal sin. With that mentality, is it really OK to sell my daughter into slavery as written in Exodus 21:7? Do I have to kill my brother myself for installing windows in his new house on a Sunday (Exodus 35:2)? Do I have to kill myself for helping him? Am I obligated to stone my wife for planting two different crops side by side?

The Bible is a package deal… If you accept one rule as “God’s law”, don’t you have to accept them all?

The only clear reference to lesbians is in Romans 1. In typical Bible fashion the woman is referred to as some kind of object, owned by man:

"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. "

Later in the same chapter the Bible delightfully and in usual caring manner prescribes death to those who are gay.

"Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

The scripture was quoted. and yes, it is an abominable life style to the Lord, who created us. But, it is also a sin, just like fornication, just like adultry, just like gossip, like stealing, like anything else the Bible tells us not to do to be a good agent for the Lord. The Lord love the sinner, but not the sin, and is patient for all of us to wash clean of our sins and sin no more. So, we don't have the right to attack lesbians, or gays, but we do not have to accept the life style. We are not supposed to judge, or run with them, but to witness to them for we are judged how we judge others. The Lord loves all of us but hates evil, and those who chose to satisfy their own lusts and render unto Satan, well, they will have to face their Maker someday and answer to Him.

The bible makes no such claim about men having sex with other men. The words are subject to interpretation and do not specifically prohibit homosexuality.

If they do, they make a glaring omission by not including women.

Don't listen to people who say that "man" refers to mankind, because as christians love to tell us, we must read the bible LITERALLY, and not interpret!!!

Oh, and the Romans 1:26 is a re-write from women abandoning "their natural use". Which was always taken to mean women not having children (thus it was used as an argument against contraception). It's been reinterpreted in NIV to say "relations" because of the anti-homosexual agenda. Anyway, even the "natural use" argument doesn't prohibit women form having sex with each other, so long as they still have sex with men.

Check the facts.
