Man. This allegory known as the Riddle of the Sphinx encapsulates a man's life into a day. In the morning (childhood), he crawls on all fours, in the afternoon (adulthood), he walks on two legs, and in the evening (old age) he uses a cane -- his third leg.

What has four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon and three legs in the evening?
A man! You see, he has four legs in the 'morning' because he's a baby crawling, two in the 'afternoon' because he walks normally most his life, and three in the 'evening' because he needs a cane! Oh, what if he was a quadraplegic? Hmm... didn't think of that...
Don't worry if you didn't get that one... That one was so difficult it even stumped the sphinx!!!
