The idea just came to me today. I'm sure it's been done before, but it does seem to be yielding results.

Sounds good! It's the same way we learn the alphabet, so it sounds like a great idea. Songs are a good way to learn important information. Teachers do it in foreign language classes all the time since the students have to remember stuff they've not really been exposed to before.

No, but it would probably work. Most kids learn from songs, so go for it. But, if you do and they go to school, don't be surprised to get a note or call from the teachers that your child can't say their phone number without putting it to music first. Kind of cute though...

Take a piece of construction paper and write your number on it REAL BIG. Hang it on the wall where your child can see it. My 4 year old now knows my cell, my hubbys cell, the house number and his aunt's number. I had no idea it would work that well. You will get calls when you least expect it though.

Best way to teach a phone number is to actually allowing them to practice the # on a real phone. This way they get use to exactly where the buttons are located.

Yep. Works very well whenever you teach something through song. My kids learned their address and phone number that way.

No but that's a good idea. I taught my son the order of the Presidents when he was little by singing them. Even at 15 he can still remember them because of it. = )~

I taught my son our phone number (to that song), address and anything else that he had trouble with using pop songs....just remember the "ABC" song when you were a kid. Works like a charm.
