why do men's rape ladies?

All of the answers so far are great. Some men rape women because it is a power trip...For the control. Possibly because of the way they were brought up. Possibley because of severe low self esteem. There are different reasons men do it tho none of them are justifiable or right.

There's no one specific reason to explain y men do it,but what i believe is :
Men starts to have fantasies about having sex from their childhood even from the age of 7-8yrs.They enter into adolescence and are fully capable of having sexual relationships at the age of 17-18yrs.But its not that they cant do sex at the age of 14yrs.
Now lets take an e.g of India where i live n the age to marry, for a men is 22yrs.Also prostitution is illegal and others mediums of satisfying their sex drive are very less.SO what a men is expected to do between age of 14 to 22 yrs other than masturbating,therefore slowly n steadily this sex drive overtakes the mind of a men and push him to the limit of destroying someones life which is totally unacceptable n shud be severely punished.
But also there shud be some punishments for the system n society which creates some situations which's result is Rape.
This is only one dimension of Rape which im explaining other reasons include
mental disorders or disturbed phsycology, bad childhood experiences, in rare cases inappropriate women behaviors.
Now what i think is the best solution to it is legalizing prostitution which will bring down both diseases AIDS n RAPE.

Pornography is not a reason men rape women. Porns are about F'n, not raping. Idiots. It is a mental disorder typically brought on by severe trauma or abuse as a child. It leaves them only to be aroused when they are in a position of control, and their partner is helpless. Plus there are different types of "rape" so be more specific.

Here is a better question? I have girl friends all the time who say they love it when their men "pretend" to rape them and are forceful. Why do girls enjoy simulated rape?

Rape is all about power. A man generally rapes a woman to have have power over her, perhaps to break her down. Feeling threatened by women gaining more equality in every facet of life has a lot to do with it. There are books out there on the subject if you are interested.

Men rape women because they want to be in control.
If you are being raped only fight back if you are 100% sure that you can take him because if you fight back you might end up fighting for your life. Mace will only make him mad, instead pack a gun or a tazer which will kill or incapacitate him.
