How long should I wait after dyeing my hair to put in highlights? Is one week too short of a time?

I usually do one week between coloring and hilighting. When I do it that way the color has faded a little bit and it's easier to lift. I have done it at the same time though, only because the client requests it and doesn't want to wait. I would say if you have a darker coloring and want a real light hilight ....wait one week.

This depends on the condition of the hair. If your hair shows any sign of breakage do not use until some sort of treatment is performed. However, if the hair is in good condition, wait for at least 2 weeks. And if you are not sure, just stop by and salon and ask a professional.

one week is definitely too short
trust me i should know
my mom dyed her hair 1 week again after puttin dye in thier the week before
and most of her hair fell out
you want to atleast wait about a month or two before putting another dye in it or perm
especially if you have thin brittle hair
because your hair will just be damaged
but for now wait and keep your hair moisturized so u dont have damaged hair like my mother! lol
