Everyone says that bikers are "rebels," and whenever I tell women that I bike, they ask if I'm really a rebel.

I tell her that I am only "half of a rebel" because my cycling shorts are the only black article of clothing I wear and I wear sunglasses for it...which I think some rebels do to seem more "mysterious" or such. My non-rebel half wears a blue helmet and brighter colored cycling jerseys.

Hmmmmm... I dont think they are "rebels" but I do think they are very dedicated athletes. Some people say that it doesnt take alot to be a biker but I think they are crazy. I would love to see someone who doesnt train hard go do the Tour de France!!!

Back in the seventies here in the United States Bikers were motorcycliest and still are today. They got the name "Rebels" because of the drugs and sex. They would terrorise any and every body they could. It was a form of gang on bikes. They would chase a car and eventually run it off the road I don't recall very much any more but I think one gang had like 50 members in it. Hells Angels was the biggest problem in certain areas. As a matter of fact for a note of History the leader became a preacher later in life and almost all of them were converted now they evangelize here in the United States all throughout the country I don't know the numbers in this Christian biker congregation.

No, they are not rebels. As I had mentioned before, some people think you are referring to motorcycles when you say "bikers". However I do know that a lot of people think Lance Armstrong is a rebel because the French were jealous because he won so many times. It's really a shame the way they kept accusing him of doping; when what actually happened is the drug testing results were lost on the 2nd part of the testing.
