It's hard because we live in a society with a lot of superficiality. Many look at the media to define what a relationship should look like and we see in movies very hot guys with hot girls. It's really not about love as much as it is about lust. We live in a sex-saturated society and so people mostly pay attention to looks and don't really care to search deeper and truly fall in love with someone. Don't worry. Just keep being yourself and the right person will come along eventually. Just don't sell yourself short.

It's hard to find true love if you are not yourself, and pretend you are the person you think they want you to be, just to get their attention. That's misrepresentation. If you get their attention be trying to be sexy and provocative, sleep with them to try to make them like you, and pretend you have no feelings, needs, or wants, you are misrepresenting yourself.
When you share your other redeeming qualities with people, someone will appreciate them. And you will know someone loves you for you, because you will feel it. You will feel confidend and assured about their feelings for you, just like you know your own name. You will have no doubts, questions, or worries about the relationship.
Be yourself and don't waste time on guys who want to change you. Don't waste time on guys who are perfect "but....". You cannot change or fix anyone, so don't even try. Why would you buy shoes that were two sizes too small?
Think about it. And don't rely on others for your happiness. They don't want that kind of responsibility. Get happy with yourself and they will want to share it with you. Do this through accomplishments, mastering a talent or skill, and donating your time and effort to others (volunteer work, etc).
When you feel special, talented, good at stuff, needed, and appreciated, other people will, too. And they will want you around to share that with.
WHY is it so hard to just be who you are? You would think that it is the easiest thing in the world. Why do people think they have to become something someone else wants (or so they think)? Don't they think people will like who they really are?
Trust me, there are people out there that will, as long as YOU do!

No I don't. Couples that fight hard are basically incompatible and a marriage between them would be hell. Often a person has great sex with someone who is tempestuous but it doesn't mean that the person is loved but the sex is. And yes, I was involved with someone for 4 years with whom I had a tempestuous relationship. He destroyed my love for him but I stuck around longer than I should have because the sex was so great.

The most important thing is to love yourself first. Make yourself happy and NEVER depend on others to do it. If you do, it never fails that you get let down at sometime. Once you make yourself happy, you can invite in others to share that happiness with. Never settle for less than the best, because YOU deserve it and people that you want to be around will treat you accordingly because of your positive outlook and vibrance. Good luck............

It would not be nearly as special if you could come by it every day.

The good things are worth waiting for, and think of it this way.... there is someone out there waiting for you as well

I asked myself that same thing so many times. One that one person will come in your life unexcpected. People are to picking though. Just look at the personality and not looks, that will help I hope.

We are human, we screw up. And when someone hurts us, if we love them we forgive. Allowing it to happen again and again.
