I am ordering my wedding dress in about 2 days and I absolutely can't make up my mind about which color to choose. It is definitely between those two (white or ivory).

I have a pretty good tan, so I know either one would look okay. Is there that big of a difference between the two colors?

I know it's up to me and not anyone else, but I seriously don't know which to choose.

IVORY!!!

i had the same questions and hard time figuring it out. i asked everyone and everyone had a different opinion. then i had the bright idea to ask the photogragher...
she said most brides that wear white end up looking washed out in their photos....
ivory is better. and she showed me pictures to prove her statement. it is suttle..but the ivory dresses were better. plus, when you wear the gown-everyone will think it is white anyway.
good luck

If you are going to have white flowers then you may want to get a white dress. We ran into a problem because some of the flowers we were using looked more ivory and I had a white dress. They made the flowers look really dull. White flowers might do the same to an ivory dress. Also, compare both to the bridesmaid dress colors.

I have always preferred ivory over white,it looks richer. For me personally, david's Bridal ivory is too white.I cant believe all the name calling on this particular post, this is supposed to be a fun, informative forum.have a happy wedding day, have fun picking out your dress, maybe try both colors on with the bridesmaid color and see which looks better,Robin

Several years ago the color did matter. White was for your first marriage and those getting married for a second, third, and, god forbid, a fourth or fifth time wore ivory. Nowadays it is personal preference. When you go try the dresses on try a mixture of both colors. You will know it when you have "the one" on.

Good luck!

When I was looking at wedding dresses, I was surprised at how similar ivory and white look. And seeing as they're so similar, I wouldn't worry too much about it. But I do prefer ivory because white can look a little too ... um ... white.

since you have a really good tan go with the Ivory.I think it would look pretty with you're tan.The only difference is that the color Ivory has just a tad bit more of the yellow color in it. its kinda like a pale yellow.

I think that if you are tan you can pull off either one... but if you are not a virgin then you should probably go with the ivory one. the whole point of a white dress is so that you can claim purity...

the whole if you're a virgin wear white is bull crap. Who cares anymore????? anyone???? thats right NO ONE my mom got married for the 3rd time and has 3 kids and wore a stunning white gown and no one said anything. I think white is prettier but if you opt for Ivory than go for it!

If you can't decide which you like better, then just flip a coin.

If that's too arbitrary for you, ask your best friend, maid of honor, mother, etc.

BUT ASK ONLY 1 PERSON, OR YOU'LL END UP WITH 2 DIFFERENT OPINIONS. And then you're in the same position, but you have to also decide which person you're going to slight.

Consider some of the other colors in your wedding. What are the men wearing, bridesmaids, flowers, if this doesn't help wear white. That would be my choice....; )
Good luck and Congradulations!!
