ok i lefted my boyfriend the otherday because he hit me and i had enough of it it was happening for four years .he rang me and said sorry come back and said he will stop drinking or control his temper now i ve gone back with him but i cant trust him to not hit me .
but i told him if he ever hits me again i will leave him and i mean it
so my question is do u think men who hit women can ever stop

No. It is a vicious cycle. Leave now while you can. Noone deserves to be hit.

They can stop, but they need lots of therapy or other help...it's a serious problem and many men don't think it is a problem so they never seek help...You have to mean what you say, if he does hit you again...you must leave...
You should probably talk to a counselor too...you may learn alot about yourself and why you've stayed with him even though he hits...you are so much better than that, there is no reason that a man should EVER hit a woman...

I know the answer you want to hear. But I honestly don't think that he will ever stop hitting you. And you know the hardest part about it is that you love him and you want to believe everything he says because he sounds so sincere. He may actually be convinced at the time that he tells you he won't hit you, that he's telling the truth. But he doesn't really respect you and it will happen again. Please don't believe it and LEAVE!!!!

MEN DAT HITS CAN CHANGE BUT NOT WITH OUT ANGER MANAGMENT AND HELP WITH HIS DRINKING. I HAVE 2 BROTHER-IN-LAWS DAT DOES THE SAME THING TO ALL THEIR G/FS . 1 HAS CHANGED AND 1 HAS NOT. THE 1 DAT CHANGED DID GET HELP WITH ANGER AND DRINKING. HE HAS NOT HIT HIS G/F IN 3 YEARS. THE OTHE 1 STILL HITS GIRLS AND ALL WAYS SAYS HE IS SORRY AND WONT DO IT AGAIN BUT HE DOES. SO IF I WAS U I WOULD NOT GO BACK TO HIM UNLESS HE SHOWED ME DAT HE GOT HELP. AND HE WOULD HAVE TO FINISH THE CLASSES NOT JUS START EM. SO TAKE IT FROM SOME ONE DATS BEEN AROUND IT FOR 18 YEARS AND KNOWS . GOOD LUCK GIRL AND HOPE I HAVE HELPED U SOME HOW.

They can stop but after quite a bit of counseling. He will hit you again. If your going to stay around for it make sure the next time IS the last time.

fool me once, fool me twice, third time im no fool...Honey, yes, any person can change. i do agree to that, but in a case where there is abuse, i say let that man get help first before you get back with him. Let him prove to you that he is a changed man cause otherwise he will keep hittin you over and over again and always sing that " i wont do it again" tune. Leave him now, if he wants to get help, then allow him to get help and then if you ae secure and trustworthy of the change in him, then ok maybe then you can try to pursue the relationship. Otherwise, as of right now, nothing will be different, he will be putting his hands on you again in no time!

Get out and give him time to figure out that hitting is wrong.If he moves on, he's a loser. If he starts controlling his emotions without hitting...then try again. Don't give him the idea that hitting is OK...pretty soon, he will never stop.

Real men NEVER hit their women.
We take care of them and treat them with respect. Not only when we are sober, but always.
A guy who hits a woman, ever, for any reason, is sick. No woman ever deserved it. Even once.
The guy is sick. And the only way he can stop is to get help for his illness.
If he doesn't get help, he will do it again. Do not go back unless he seriously gets help.

I think men who hit women can always stop. At the same time it's only been a few days...I don't think it can stop that quickly. It's a long process and he needs professional help. Please don't go back to him until he's truly changed and you can honestly say that you trust him.

My boyfriend's father was an abuser of his wife and kids and it took 16 years for them to get out..the police had to get involved and they had to be taken to a secret location to get away from this guy...it isn't worth it, no mater how much he "loves you" a guy that hits, is not one that loves

hit his a s s back, go d a m n bizerke, act like you are seriously mental, just flick off. he sees your weakness, and he knows that you will keep on coming back to him, but you show him that he dosnt put his hands on you. don't leave, next time he even act like or if he even look like he thinking that he wants to hit you, you pick something up and bus him in his head, I can ALMOST promise you he wont hit you again, but if that don't work, you better click them heels and be gone with the wind. good luck
