Christianity encourages people to think, which is very different from a number of different religions. As such, different people have interpreted passages differently. There are many factors that are essential to a Christian faith, which if they are not agreed upon, the person disagreeing with them is not a Christian. Such beliefs are things such as:
The absolute infallibility of Scripture.
The Godhead three in one (also called the Trinity)
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins and rose again to save humanity.
You must accept Christ as your Savior to gain eternal life.
Those aren't all of them, but I won't go wasting words with the rest, that's just an example. However, there are differences that are not necessarily critical parts of Christianity which people disagree on. Things such as:
Sprinkled or dunked baptism.
Who wrote Hebrews?
Can you lose your salvation?
That list also goes on, but those are some differences that while may be an issue for churches that meet together, are not things that determine whether a person is saved or not. For this reason some denominations have come about. That's not necessarily a good thing, but that's the way things are right now. That doesn't mean that Christians of different denominations can't worship together, and serve together. In some ways it could be argued that denominations preserve the church rather than allow us to be torn apart by less important differences.

The Church that started in Ephasis, Greece, there were nothing said about the "doctrines" preached. As Christianity spread from Ephasis, people began taking their cultural teachings to interpret the Bible. So, first you had The Church at Ephasis, then the other churches Paul started, and then the Catholic Church, which began saying Mother Mary was as God, bearing our Savior, and believing Priests COULDN'T marry. The around 1100CE, the Greek Orthodox (Eastern Orthodox Church) said that priests COULD marry. Then around 1300, you had Martin Luther, and other Reformists, who said "WE CAN READ THE BIBLE ON OUR OWN!" because before, the Church was the only people who could read the Bible, and then came the Church of England, and the Epicopal, Baptist, and Presbyterian Churches!

Early Christianity was not based on The Bible. As it did not exist as one book at the beginning. the teachings of Jesus were spread by word of mouth and some teachings written down by a variety of people. There where also at that time many other belief systems in place, some of their stories became mixed in with the teachings of Jesus. Also, people like to choose what they believe is true and fits with their life and view of Jesus/God. this separates people into different groups of belief when they cannot agree on what is the true writing and teachings to accept and follow. I hope this helps you to understand. Peace !

A lot of it boils down to the fact that as a document the Bible was written by several different people at several different times (throughout thousands of years) and in at least 3 ancienct texts
Most of the OT is in Ancient or biblical Hebrew, while the NT is written predominantly in Greek I know ther were at least two books written in Aramiac but I forget which ones.

Very Good Question! It can't be based on the Bible text because the Bible teaches unity and there is no unity in so many denominations not even in the one denomination will you find the unity when they do not follow the Bible teaching.

It is because of interpretations and nothing more. If you give a bible to one person to read, then the same bible to another they will read different things into the writings. That is why christianity is so divided.

The Bible is not ONE text, but many, some from oral tradition, some from the written tradition. And those texts were written, rewritten, copied, translated , misinterpreted, added to and altered depending on who did the editing. It is a Tower of Babel, not really a single entity.

you've got to remember that the Bible was originally in greek. Each translation might give birth to a different religion. There are other ways different factions come about.
