well first of all I hope ur straihtner isnt sum weak brand like Conair--- right?? conair is crap they dont get hot enough and the mist makes ur hair worste. You need to either go out and buy a 'Chi' or a revelon one that gets pretty hot. When you do your hair you Never straighten ur hair with any WATER based producs! -no.... SO NO gel the only thing u could add would be hairspray and thats at the end IF YOu curl ur hair.
What you need to make sur eto do is straighten ur hair by small sections so u get close to the roots and add a little of; Frizz Ease or Bead head (which are oil based) and ONLY ADD A LITTLE, remeber u an go running in the rain after you straighten ur hair! u got be on it....
One thing that will work like GOLD-- is if say you straighten ur hair the night before. WHat u do BEFORE u go to bed is get a scarf, from there you brush ur bangs over one way and proceed to brush ALL ur hair in the same direction, making sum what of a circle out of ur HAIR, meaning the middle of ur head is left alone. From there u try to hold it with one hand and put the scarf on with the other, after u put it on TURN the scarf in the same direction u brushed it in,
You will wake up with goregous hair that will lay soooooo nice, It hard to do the first coulpe of times but its worth it! -lol
If none of this works than you need a LIGHT straightening perm or a light relaxer, but mainly u need a oil based pruduct and you NEED to WRAP your hair

There are a couple things you could do. First wash with shampoo for straight styles. Also, may sure your straightener is ceramic. I got one at my local mall at a kiosk that I love. Works really good (permed my hair in november and it straightens it nicely). One thing I have learned that keeps it straight longest and not frizzy is I let my hair dry culy (with the mouse in it) and then once dry I will straighten my hair. Seems to last longer that way and not frizz on me. Then I will use large hot rollers or large barrel curling iron to smooth and curl the ends some. I also use a hair serum every time I get out of the shower and combe through my hair.

Actually my friend went for permanent hair straightening, but she has to use either a flat iron or blow dry to make it really straight. So even if her hair is straightened, it is not complete straight without a flat iron. And additionally, though she uses a ceramic and ionic flat iron only once a week, her hair becomes dry the next day as if she has burnt hair. She uses Biolage shampoo and conditioner too. So I dropped the idea to go for permanent straightening.
I need help too, I'll check back again.

There is a new tool for straightening hair.
It's called Infiniti Hair Designer, made by ConAir.
It has this straightening attachment that straightens as it dries.
I can't wait to try it - I just ordered it.
I think it may work, combined with some smoothing products and hair spray.
My hair does not stay straight and it gets wavy, so this is hopeful.

First go buy a CHI iron and make sure when you blowdry your hair it is completely dry. Then straighten it with the CHI iron( it's expensive but only that brand will straighten it...for days, if you do it right).
Use Biolage smoothing polish to give it shine and keep the frizzies to a minimum.

okay get a strightener with a comb built in conair is the best
plus if you would thin your hair just a tad and or layer the top or make the top a little shorter (thats what I did) It will have your hair staying stright all day everyday and it makes it alot easier to maintain...

You should try combing it from the root down with a round brush and once its straightened don't wet it.

Blow dry it with a large round brush and then straighten it if you absolutely have to.
