Well, I'm a first kid. Did I get the most preference? No. I got the most chores. I was the most "mature". I was the one who should have known better. I got babysitting duty for the 3 brothers. I am the first AND the only girl. I got to learn to clean (and had to do it) I had to learn to cook. I helped with homework.

Now that I'm older (30) I still don't get preference. My mom is disabled now. I get to take care of her. I get to do her shopping. I get to drive those brothers around still (the younger ones, anyway.)

Well, maybe my answer is yes in a way. As the first kid, I got the most preference when it came to choosing a person to do the tasks nobody else wants.

Be glad you're not the oldest! Behave yourself and you'll get all the preference you deserve.

I don't think so. I think that the youngest kid always gets the most, the best, the most extreme, etc. I am in the middle, no. 2 of 4, and my experience leads me to believe that my mother thinks the oldest is pure evil and has no brain, while the youngest is some sort of genius who can do no wrong! Somehow, I don't believe her... Oh no, I'm not prejudiced.... Anyways, hang in there, if you have an older sibling who is getting most of the attention right now, just wait. Your turn should cycle around soon enough, just be patient. Remember, "Good things come to those who wait."

It depends on the family...I'm the oldest and I didn't get any preferential treatment...but I have 2 brothers and a sister...I was basically the test subject, as in my parents were more strict with me and chilled out a lot as the other kids were born and going through things that I already had...

You can totally tell that my brother is the favorite out of the 4 of us though...

No, definitely not. I was the oldest of four and they get away with way more than I ever did. My stepdad hit me if I didn't get my chores and stuff done but he doesn't even make them do anything at all other than clean their rooms. Plus they get way more stuff. I don't know - my case is kind of different since I was from my Mum's first marriage and they're from her second. My stepdad always had it in for me.

The middle child never gets any attention,

am the middle child, when my brothers got in trouble with the law my parents got them the best lawyers money could buy. When i got arrested for a fight that got out of control my parents let me stay in jail for that weekend and even then i had to deal with.

No they can do what they want and get preference cuz the mom and dad have know that child longer and have grown closer just give it time and it'll all work out.maybe they think they're more responsible.(which is true and smarter)I'm the youngest outta three

I think the oldest gets it the hardest, they're like the test child. The next kid gets crusified for all the imperfections of the first. . . . and the last kid gets spoiled to all hell.
