It really pains me to see people that believe in freedom of religion and equality for all on here basically treating Christians like we are unequal and that our beliefs are so far fetched. If you really believe in freedom of religion, then stop questioning what we believe in. If you don't want to believe in Christ, then that's you. We're not trying to make you believe what we believe.

I understand that many Christians try to tell people that they are going to hell and all that other stuff. But there are plenty of Christians including myself who dont' try to push their beliefs on others. The only time I tlak to someone hwo is not a Christian about Christ is when they ask me. Can you really say that every Christian that you have met says that you are going to hell if you don't get saved.

It is easier to bash then to try and understand. I believe that they are hoping they are right and are afraid they are wrong and it makes them feel better to bash Christianity.\
It is sad, but true.

"treating Christians like we are unequal"

It's probably because (some) Christians treat others unequally, such as bashing gay people and telling every non-Christian that they are going to burn in hell for eternity.

"and that our beliefs are so far fetched."

That's because your beliefs ARE far fetched! When was the last time you saw a dragon? When was the last time you saw someone walking on water? When was the last time you saw a stick turn into a snake!?

"We're not trying to make you believe what we believe."

Yes you are, I see preaching in here all the time.

"But there are plenty of Christians including myself who dont' try to push their beliefs on others. The only time I tlak to someone hwo is not a Christian about Christ is when they ask me. No and there are definitely many Christians that are very kind and do not bash anyone. There are good and bad people in every group. Many groups of people get "bashed" here but Christians are probably attacked the most because as the biggest group, they are doing the most attacking.

Isn't it interesting how that is true? It's ok to be Muslim, Buddhist, Atheist or any other religion, but if you're a Christian you're automatically a bigot and an idiot. Every other religion has very solid views. I guess it's because Christianity is the only religion that speaks out against sin in a very intolerant way. God also said in the Bible that most people will reject Him. So I guess people are most hateful towards Christians, because what they believe is true!

I understand your concern. I think this whole thing should not be used to bash any other religions. It's one thing to have a religious discussion or answer a legit question but some people are just attacking everyone else. I don't think anyone should be pushing their beliefs on one another on here or bashing any others. It is ridiculous and childish. I'm glad you feel that way though. I myself am moreso spiritual than religious and don't coincide with any religion. But I still enjoy hearing others views on religion and reading their LEGIT questions! Thank you for posting this and being adult about it!

The largest problem w/YA is that we don't keep the discussions generic in nature than people get hurt on all sides of the spritual debate. If we can be less specific and just say religion instead of: Jews, Christians, Muslims, Mormans, Cathilocs, etc. than we'd avoid alot of what you're saying. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen and neither is any level of respect for others beliefs or questions. PEACE!

I don't bash christians, I bash all religions.

And you don't get off that easly. Yes, you and all the other religions are in fact trying to force your religion on everyone, even the other religions.

And that is what makes religion, all religions, so dangerous. It is a foolish belief in a foolish myth. You, and your kind, are fighting and arguing over something that doesn't even exist.

Fortunately for us all, theocracy is just about finished on the planet. It's taken nearly 500 years to get to this point, and the islamic wack jobs are really the only ones left. And they'll be gone soon too. Thanks to these nut jobs, more and more people are waking up to just how foolish, and dangerous, religion really is.

Sadly there is alot of people bashing in general. It saddens me when anyone claims to hate Jesus. However, non-Chrisitans are not the only ones bashing. And we are to expect as Christians to be hated. It says so right in the Bible. We can make anyone believe. We can only pray and witness. As far as our beliefs being far fetched----well, I can see how an nonbeliever would see that. I mean, really, as Christians we are specializing in faith. Nonchrisitans need to see Jesus through us and then their eyes will be opened. Funny though....we are always told that we are closed minded for believing in God....when many are content to only see the concrete world around them and claim that is all there is. What sounds more closed minded to you?

Ah, I see you've joined the party a little late! The bashing is completely mutual, and has been going on for quite some time. And there's no end in sight.

I like to think of this a a suburb of Ireland.

The best thing to do is ignore it. Ignore the christian bashers who piss you off. And don't construct your own podium for non-christian bashing, or you'll just be propagating the whole thing.

I don't bash Christians for their beliefs. To me, any belief system that makes you treat everyone better, to treat them as you would like to be treated, is great!

I take issue with "christians" who preach bigotry, hatred, discrimination and therefore violence against LGBT people. Their thoughts, words and deeds go completely against their teachings. WWJD?

Fortunately those hate-spewing "christians" are a minority in the real world, where most people work towards justice, tolerance and understanding. But they seem to be very vocal here!
What have each of us done each day to try and gently return them to a loving path?

I think it is wrong to bash either. I see others making fun of christians and I also see a lot of christians trying to shove their ideas and beliefs down others throats. I wish people could accept that every person has their own path or beliefs and respect that and live with understanding and compassion for their fellow human beings. Sigh.

People normally pick on bible believing people because they in turn have been picked on for years by them. So, they pick on bible people because basically... they can.

And yes, more than 98% of the people I know that are bible practicers, have tried to make me and push their belief systems on me, and frankly, I'm really sick of it. So when bible people stop picking on me and others about their religious beliefs, then I'm sure we will stop picking on them.

Also, 98% of bible people think that their religions are the only "true" religion out there and that all other religions are false and the people that practice them, in the year 2000 will die a horrible death and be punished in hell. That is a direct quote from someone that I knew.
