I have a sign I am thinking of putting up in my office. No patient ever comes in to my office only idiot staff members. I plan to hang the sign on they wall near my computor and when someone ask me a stupid question pointing to it and ignoring them. My question is do you think most will laugh or just get angry.
The sign says
I used to care but I take a pill for that now.
I am serious what do you think.

Let me rephrase the stupid questions term to say that people who come into my office to ask me about something are generally trying to avoid taking care of thier patients.

In the field of medicine, if you can't handle stupid question, you are in trouble because you will get them everyday. The question that might seem stupid to you might not be as stupid if you think about it. So, forget about the idea of sign and dedicate your time to serving others. Is not that the reason you are in the medical field in the first place? I thoughtful answer is better than a cheap laugh.

I think is very funny and you should put it up. Most job environments need some laughter and good mood, especially the medicine world. I have family members who also work in medicine and they would find it funny. People who are offended by it, take themselves too seriously and would get angry with any sign so don't worry about that.
Do it for us who long for a laugh on our long working day!!!

I think it's a stupid sign and if people are asking you a question whether stupid or not they didn't know the answer. Saying goes "There are no stupid questions just stupid answers" and you would be classified in the stupid answers category.

It's a dry humor,doc.Got a heavy headache going now and upon reading your sign it made me think .. and so i wish to ask,at what dosage are you taking this used-to-care pill, btw??!

It's funny alright.And if they get angry,you can always prescribed them the used-to-get angry pill.

If you're unsure how they are going to react, it's for one of two reasons.
A) they have a history of bad reactions and/or a lack of a sense of humor.
B) you haven't worked there long

Put it up, its your office. If someone gets offended....and you know someone will wait to see what happens. If a supervisor says take it down , then take it down .....if not enjoy it its funny. I wish I had a T-Shirt that said that.
