Do you volunteer in your community? If so, what do you do?

If not, what's stopping you? Is it time, transportation?

I volunteer at my local elementary school as a reading tutor. I tutor two children for two hours per week. Many don't volunteer because they work during the days when most opportunities exist. Luckily, my company gives us the option of volunteering in the community for 2 hours per week and we don't lose any of our pay. (hmmm-- is that volunteering?) My company believes strongly in getting out into the community and is willing to sacrifice hours during the workday to achieve their volunteer goals. I hope more companies will adopt this model.

Yes I do some volunteer work for a spiritual center as a receptionist and do some translation for the Pastor.

I also do volunteer work with a group of performers raising money for different org. I've been doing this for the last 18 years and I find it very rewarding. No problems with transportation we can always get ourself to the place. Sometimes we fill up a busload of people and go do a benefit in a different city. It is very interesting. I can feel all that beautiful energy coming from the elderly people who otherwise would be lonely and bored. They really appreciate what we are doing for them

Nope, although I was forced to "volunteer" while in high school. I don't have any desire to volunteer, that's what's stopping me...although transportation would be an issue if I did want to.

I do stuff with the Boy Scouts in the low-income programs. I also do stuff with homeschool groups. I think we were put here to work together as people.

When my kids were in school, I volunteered time there. I also did stuff with the sports they played in.

I try to support kids as much as I can.

Yes, I do. I'm involved in ministries at church. Sometimes it directly affects the body of the church and sometimes we do outreach to different communities. I'm an admin, so I basically make sure each ministry has the tangible items they need to share their gifts.
