I am always arguing my point, that music is any sound that begins and ends. I also argue that the medium of technology by which the music is created nor the original source of the creative process has no forbearence on the song being musical. As technological advances increase, so will the method of performing and composing music. If you understand and appreciate music in its entirety and are aware of avant garde composers like George Crumb and John Cage, then why do so many people state that electronica (house, ambient, DnB, trance, etc) is not music?

I like the broad definition of "organized sound."

Music encompasses tones, as notes of a given scale, referenced to each other by mathematical equations, falling in the range of 20Hz (Hertz, formerly cps, or cycles per second) to 20kHz (Kay-Hertz, or thousands), which is the normal range that the human ear can perceive, 20Hz being the lowest in pitch and 20kHz as the highest.

In addition, the notes are structured within the context of rhythm, time signature and tempo, the most common of which is 3/4, 4/4 or 5/4 time. The first number represents how many beats per measure, the second the "note" that gets the beat. As an example, 3/4 time indicates that there are three beats to the measure, with the quarter note getting the beat, which most of us recognize as a "waltz". In 3/4 time, the "one" is the down beat, with the two and three being the up beats. In 4/4 time, one and three are the down beats, with two and four being the up beats, In 5/4 time, one and four are the down beats, with two, three and five being the up beats.

As an example of the versatility of the art form, reggae music, which is usually in 4/4 time, changes, in that one and three become the up beats and two and four are the down beats. It sounds simple, but, at least for me, as a drummer, the feel is contrary to what I've usually played for a lifetime and has a very "foreign" feel to it (no pun intended).

The beauty of it is, one need not stay within the frame work of any music that has been composed before, which allows music to be a very good medium for artistic expression.

I agree, I think music can be any sound that has some sort of repetition.

I totally consider electronica music. I mean, what else do people call it?
