On the grand scheme of things we are hardly a grain of sand on teh largest desert.

And we are neither positioned centrally to anything.

Our galaxy is also insignificant.

Why did god make us so insignificant, di dhe create others more significant and

Really, how long did it take him to create all this??

Did he create each electron and neutron and proton individually?

Anyway, you know where I am going with this..

Whats your answer

DO NOT PASTE A WHOLE LOAD OF UNREFERENCED GARBAGE OR PASSAGES FROM THE BIBLE.

The question that follows is for that.

The universe has to be the size it is, just so we'd be here to see it.

You can't be serious??? I think this is a new low for YA... If you believe that people are just the same as a grain of sand then you've got it... But people are alive and breathing and the only thing in the galaxy with the ability to talk and reason (that we know of)... Even evolutionists would say that we are unique and significant in the universe... Top of the food chain...

The universe is infinite in size... there is no central position... that means nothing...

Besides, God is a god... he is an all powerful and supreme being... We can't understand anything that he does... he is infinite in knowledge... all he has to do is think and it is created or destroyed... Anyway we can't comprehend this because we are limited, finite beings... we can't understand an unlimited infinite being...

Well 6 days.... and why do you tell me not to use the Bible... If you want to know about creation how else can you find out...

Thanks for calling it garbage... that is really openminded and respectfull of you....

He created so much so that we would know that He is God... and He gave everything a predetermined age that is why we can see light from stars that are millions of light years away... even though God made them and they were seconds old... you could see them...

Do you know how He created it all? By His word... the very elements formed from nothing... and obeyed His command...

It makes more sense than the whole universe creating itself from nothing... and then haveing life create itself from non-life... and having self awareness, which is not neccesary for Darwinial survival.... scientificaly impossible...

If I had a pencil in my hand and I said it made itself... would you belive me? No of course not.... it had a creator... the same applies in nature...

maybe one day in heaven we may explore the other galaxies and planents since we will not be bound by physical laws such as the speed of light... instead we will go God's speed...

The universe shows you how big God is... the universe is infinante to us... but God can set it on the tip of His Finger....

God bless...

Update:
That's a great question! Actually it's amazing how significant we really are - stay with me, I'm not going off on a Jesus tangent here.

1. The universe is about 15,000 billion light years across and we are carbon based life forms.

2. There are all of these strong and weak forces in the universe.

3. Carbon doesn't begin to form or exist until these forces reach a stage of equilibrium.

4. They reach this equilibrium when the universe is about 15,000 billion light years across!

As one Nobel Prize winning scientists said (crucify me for not knowing the name, and it's not an exact quote, sorry going from memory) "we shouldn't be surprised that the universe is so large. If it were any significantly smaller, we would not exist."

So how significant are we in relation to the universe? Extremely!

This is really a question that makes many many atheists agnostic. Like, what the hell do we need all that for?

Not all Christians are creationist, by the way. I'll let science tell me how the world was created, and it won't screw with my interpretation of the bible.

Consider the vastness of the knowledge available to be a reflection of God's love onto those people who like to learn. Astronomers always say its impossible to see everything, isn't it better that way?

We are insignificant in the great scheme of things. How do you know your last life was not spent on a small planet circling Alpha Centauri?
God does not concentrate all of his energies on our spec of dirt (or Douglas Adams - a small blue green planet on the outer edge of a spiral arm; in an unfashionable part of the galaxy).

It is us that thinks it is significant, and since mankind wrote all the earthly religions, then the religions also think we are significant.

The fact that God loves a person when we are so insignificant in the universe, proves how great His love is. Its even greater than just loving us, He sent His only begotten son into the world to die for our sins so we could be saved and go to heaven. There is so much more than what we see or know about, when we get to heaven we will know all things.

That's a great question!

I was answered the same question with the following:

We need to have a balanced approach to life. In one pocket we should have the phrase "G-d created the world for me" and in the other "I am but dust and ashes." This correlates to balancing the feelings of self worth/pride and humbleness/humility.

don't know. it's pretty crazy that in the grand scheme of things, we're pretty small. our problems aren't all that large. maybe it's to remind us that we can never be in control, so it's a good thing God is. or maybe it just seems like we're insignificant, making it even more amazing that God cares so much about us. who knows? you could spend all day trying to answer this.
