Its a program you have to buy.
Best to get it at a store like BestBuy, Comp USA, Walmart. that way you have a CD backup.
I do not work for Microsoft but a word of caution!
CAUTION 99.% of the Free downloads of Operating System programs contain some form of Malware. It may function normally but SOMEONE is watching you through it.
Also using the legal version you can get protection and service updates through the internet.

No you cant. You can download a trial version of it from microsoft but its only good for thirty days. Dont waste your time with a bootleg copy either. The key becomes defunct after the original xp has been installed twice. At best, you could find a friend who has it and only installed it once. Use their key, and last but not least, if you succeed, purchase a secondary hard drive and make a ghost copy of it. This will insure that if it happens to go belly up that you still have the original. It is then a matter of copying the secondary drive back to the first. No keys, no muss, no fuss! Keep in mind tho that the secondary drive will only work in the computer you installed it to.

Unfortunately, Windows XP is not free. You have to buy at store. Why don't you wait for the Vista comes out. It is a brand new operating system for pc.

You can most likely can find an ILLEGAL copy of XP available for download. but you HAVE to BUY Windows XP to obtain a LEGAL COPY.
