These days by habit or because everyone does it. The need for gloves was years ago when most of the clubs had leather grips. The leather grips could get very slippery. That is when they started using the later glove because leather on leather will not slip. Today some people start wearing the gloves thinking they help with blisters. They may help a little but they cost a lot. Over time they get so used to the glove they feel they can't play without one

Because of the grip on a golf club, the left hand is usually the hand that gets blistered. Some people wear them on both hands. But mostly just on the left hand for that reason.

A right handed person grips the club firmly with his right hand, and lossely with his right.
Hence you need only one glove on the left hand.

If you are right handed, and you have a proper grip, you are only holding the grip in your fingers with the right hand. You don't need one, again, if you have a proper grip.

Some people are left handed you know....not everyone is right handed...


Besides why are you even asking a question in the golf section....you clearly know nothing about the sport.
