I'd buy a Barbie doll over any Bratz doll any day. What about you?

What I would do is buy a Barbie doll - (but you could find out the girl's preference). and then sew brand new clothes which are more modest than what the dolls come with on the average. My nieces liked getting clothes over the past 10 years which were more in line with their values. We are Mormon, by the way. I even made some sister missionary Barbie dolls for them once as gifts.

Ok, I am sorry but there is nothing wrong with Barbie. I had barbies and i NEVEr had a complex over it. If anything gave me a complex it would be the media and the movies. If a little girl wants a doll she wants a pretty doll and that is what barbie is. NOW, what i do have a problem with is BRATZ!! They are teaching young girls to be little hoochie's. Have you ever seen the cartoon? THey look like friggin hookers and act stupid. I would never ever allow a child to watch that show. The entire marketing campaign for Bratz dolls is all about being a bling princess and a hoochie mama. It's disgusting.

Barbie doll.... Bratz give me the creeps and remind me of hookers. Besides, I always had fun with Barbie dolls when I was growing up, I can pass my Barbies to my daughter eventually.

Personally I wouldn'y buy a little girl a doll, I would buy her a book. (God...now I REALLY sound like a grandmother) But if that is the only choice, I would go for the Bratz doll.

Barbie!

Have you ever watched the show Bratz? It's not really for kids. They do very adult things... I wouldn't want my daughter acting or dressing like they do... Barbie may have an unrealistic body but atleast she promotes being a doctor, teacher, etc.

A Bratz doll simply because they're more popular now.

I wouldn't buy any girl a doll,my daughter did not like dolls as a child . She was and is very girly, but preferred trucks and Tonka toys. When someone would buy her a doll she would say thank you and then you would never see it played with. So in order to stop people, friends, relatives etc from wasting their money I told them about her aversion to dolls. All complied with her wishes. She doesn't like dolls to this day and shes 32..Loves her husband, herdogs and her horses ,but no dolls.
So i would never buy a doll for a kid unless they asked for one.

Oh god, neither. That's all you need - to encourage another young girl to be so focused on her looks that she can't focus on the things that are really important in life. Besides, I didn't have barbie dolls growing up, and when I did play with them at my friend's house, we made them do BAD things with Ken. ha ha. I'm serious!
