Not Till The Wages Go Up
Then Well Pick The Oranges
Thats All Part Of It
Or Did You Convenienty Forget That Part Of It
The Citizens Are Stating Their Demands
If Those Growers Want That Product Picked
They WILL Raise The Wages
Or They'll Go Out Of Business
Due To A Competetive Foreign Market
Thats One Of The Citizens Demands, Remember?
DEPORT ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS UPON DISCOVERY
Hire CITIZENS At A Living Wage
Or Go Out Of Business
Its The Growers Choice
The Citizens Are Stating Their Demands
You See...
THATS How You Have A BOYCOTT
Against The ILLEGAL HIRING PRACTICES
Of Corporate America
WE THE PEOPLE Know The Product Isnt Getting Picked
And We've Made Our Demands Clear
And We're Willing To Make The Sacrifice
If They Want The Product Picked
They'll Hire DOCUMENTED Workers
ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS Will Be Deported Upon Discovery
To Hire Documented American Labor
You Must INCREASE The Payscale
To Attract American Workers
Thats When The UNION Movements Will Step Up
And We Better Step Up
Or THE ILLEGAL ALIEN LOCAL Chapter
Will Take The Unions Away From You
Your Product Wont Get To Market
And You'll Go Out Of Business
And Your COMPETITOR,
Who Is Abiding By The Hiring Laws
Will Profit By Your Loss
THATS AMERICA
Love It Or Leave It

Do you actually see those Americans complaining about the illegals out there in the hot sun, working all day long? I don't they couldn't even get one box of oranges and then they would complain because they only got paid for what they did. Good Luck getting a honest answer from those people. I'm sure they will find some excuse around it.

It maybe because there are no takers as oranges and grape fruit are grown in other countries as well and exports from America have considerably declined. Another reason is price hike by farmers despite the possible subsidy from the government.
As for lack of personnel to pick the fruit, it is possible due to new controls imposed on migrant workers who alone are available to provide such not-so-skilled jobs!
So, there you go rotting fruit - a national waste! Maybe President Bush's brother in Florida should take up the issue of migrant workers with his brother!

Yet another example of a foolish policy from the current Bush administration. None of the 9/11 terrorists, the original bombers of the World Trade Center, or the bomber of Oklahoma's Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building snuck across the border from Mexico.
A nation that can't control its own borders is a pretty poor nation, but the best solution to the Hispanic Invasion is not to make the border airtight. We need a liberal Hispanic Work program. Most of these people are hard working people trying to support their families at home or trying to do better for themselves in America. Even migrant worker wages in America are better than those wages in Mexico. Often these wages are below Federal Minimum Wage; the workers are paid by the piece--for how much they harvest, but there are a lot of Hispanics willing to do these job. And these immigrants are willing to do jobs that most Americans wouldn’t even consider doing.
People have to eat, and they want their food to be cheap, if it isn’t cheap enough then they will go to another supplier. The need for cheap crops has been the principle reason for having slaves (The current theory is that the Egyptians considered it an honor to help build the pyramids and that slave labor was not used). This created the peasant class of Medieval Europe, who where slaves in all but name, and the enslavement of blacks. Migrant workers aren’t slaves, they can leave, but they are the worst paid workers in America. Still to some Hispanics even these low wages are better than anything they can get in Mexico. They are willing to do the job and will even brave a three-day perilous trek across the desert to get the jobs. So unless you want to pay $5.00 for a single orange, and $8.00 for a loaf of bread; then illegal immigrant labor is needed.
The biggest problems with illegal Hispanic Immigrants are:
· They don’t pay ANY Federal Taxes, and no state taxes, except for sales tax; yet they use our roads, are protected by our police, and use our hospitals
· They come to this country and live here, but many don’t bother to learn English. Yes, it is a hard language to learn, but if you are going to try to join a society you need to at least speak the language of that society.
· They are not citizens, and they broke our laws just getting here. Many of them cross and re-cross the border ignoring our nation’s sovereignty.
Once a local government invited INS in to clear out the illegal immigrants. By the end of the month they were asking the INS to leave, because they had done so much harm to the local economy. George Bush started this immigration debate, and Congress has done its best to make the immigration problem worse. This policy of trying to keep all Hispanic Illegal Immigrates out is practically suicide for our economy.
So the unpicked oranges rot on the trees in Florida and the price of oranges and orange juice is expected to go up because of it. Another hit to our wallet thanks to George Bush and the Republican lead Congress.

Hard to rot when the 2005 growing season was the driest on record since they started recording the weather in 1928!! Florida is in a drought - nothing to do with your lazy illegals!!

They didn't actually get rid of the illegals ... if you do a bit of research, you'll find that the majority of the illegals actually work in construction in Florida ... more money you see, not even illegals will pick fruit when there are more lucrative jobs around ... with all the hurricanes in Florida, there's plenty of jobs in construction ... :) Check it out for yourself ...

Hmm, living in Central Florida (one of the most active orange growing regions of the state) I've heard nothing of this in any of the local news media. Sounds like you're just making stuff up.

So, let their stupid oranges rot. Did the companies that own the orange groves try to hire anybody? If not, then it's their fault that the crops are going to rot...
