Try apple bitter. That's worked with my dogs when they were in their furniture chewing phase. Also, a good scolding helps. Make sure that he knows that it's not okay to do it.

I have a six moth old "Yorkie". He is eating my house up particular the moulding around the doors?
What can I do? I made a "Red Pepper Paste" on the area he was chewing on. He sneezed once, started licking his lips, then went for water. I got back into bed and watched this crazy dog, and he finished licking the Red Hot Paste off the door moulding. He loved it.. What can I get? The crap that you spray furniture is worthless, so don't waste your money. Maybe I need to make a paste of "Red Devil Lie".. But of coarse that would kill him. I know there is an answer out there. And one more thing! How can I stop him from biting, when he is playing with me. Water pistol, will that work. I doubt it as he wants in the shower with me each day. He loves it. Rody_o

First of all puppies are like babies, they go through teething. Because their gums hurt they chew anything they can get their teeth on.
The best way to teach a dog not to chew inappropriate things is this...
First, when the dog is chewing something inappropriate don't just watch, say NO in a firm voice and take away the object (like your hand) or take the dog away from the object (like the wall).
Second, replace the object with something your dog should and can chew. Good examples are dentabones, chewie bones, raw hides, chew toys, etc... Once the dog takes the toy and starts chewing that praise him liberally. It may take a long time, but eventually your dog will get the idea and stop chewing walls.
Finally, your dog should always be supervised until he stops this behavior. While you are at work or school you need to have him in an appropriately sized crate. In addition he should be in the crate anytime you are not supervising him, like at night while you are asleep.
Carefully following all these tips will properly train your dog not to bite and chew inappropriate things.
I have never found that any of the anti- chew, pee whatever sprays work as a substitute for proper training.

Okay I'm having the same problem with my puppy. He's almost a year old. I think that your pup is teething right now. Don't let him continue this because he'll make it a habit. Are you buying him plenty of chew toys with flavor? Try not to buy the ones with pillow stuffing in them....the dog will eventually rip it up and eat that stuff....my pup did this and was pooping it out for days! lol. You need to train him. You need to tell him NO and hit him on the nose. Use a newspaper as well....always work...hit the newspaper on the floor though...not him, he'll eventually become submissive. Dogs dont like the loud noise. It scares them. So, when he bites you try a small wimper and say ouch...then a firm NO. Keep this going. NO ROUGH HOUSING. That will only stimulate him to continue chewing and eventually he'll become confused. Yorkies are very active pups and the chewing never stops! Always have a new toy for him. Try crate training him as well. Say no and when he doesnt listen, say ok go to ur cubby....My dog learned this REALLY QUICK. He knows the phrase and he stops rough housing and chewing on my feet and my socks and everything else he gets his teeth on....The point is you have to keep him busy with things that he wont get bored of
Another thing. You keeping him out at night while your asleep and he's wandering around in the place is a BIG NO NO. He gets bored and your not around so he'll defiitley get on to something. Put him in his "cubby" a.k.a. crate. This will also help him to hold his bladder and learn to go outside if he already hasnt learned that yet. Good Luck. I know the frustration. We almost got rid of my Jack Russel cuz of his tendencies of being a nuisance. But hey, what are you gonna do? Just give up? Of course not....Keep trying Have a good Weekend! Take care....

He may still be teething. Make sure that he has planty of chew toys that he likes around, Being a small dog, small leather chewys and strips are good, as well as pig ears, and cow hooves. If he bites you when playing, determine if it's really a bite, of if he's just "mouthing". If he chomps down hard enough to hurt you, then bop hin on the nose, and say "NO" loudly, and mean it. then bring him right back to you, and give him the opportunity to do it again. Continue this until he stops. Repetition and reward are the easeist ways to get a dog to learn something.

When he starts to chew tap his nose and tell him NO in a firm voice and hand him a chew bone or toy. I have four dogs now and have had several in the past and the last pup I got I tried this with and he never chewed on any thing more than once that wasn't his.

Wow..never known a Yorkie to be that bad! Wonder what breeder you bought him from? My Yorkie is a peaceful, fun-loving little guy that loves his toys. Never had a problem with him chewing and doing the things you are talking about. Sounds to me like kennel time for him and some good obedience classes. Good luck though. Yorkies can be great pets.

Try Vinegar if that doesn't work get a empty soda can and fill it with change and rattle it every time his does something wrong ,this will scare him. Buy a crate and keep him in it when you go out and sleep so he doesn't have access to the whole house .Also make sure he has plenty of dog toys and chewies so it will keep him busy!

My dog used to do the same thing. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do except keep him away from the good stuff! Try a large crate when you can't be with him. My dog stopped at about 2 years old on her own. Sorry!

When I was a kid we had a yorkie that would do the same thing. Nothing we did stopped her, she eventually ate a hole through the wall. We got home one day and she was in the garage when we had left her in the mud room. We took her back to the breeder
