Lemon juice is the only safe alternative to Sun-In or other product designed for this. Please don't put household bleach or peroxide on your head.

You can use all kinds of things to keep ur hair looking health and less dry, but if ur look for natural products u can try Mayonnaise with eggs and vinegar (which helps to keep hair shiny when u use it as a conditioner). It smells bed but its good for ur hair. And it u want u can also add lemon or lime to it to give it a better smell. Remember to mix everything together in one bowel first and then add it to ur hair and by rubbing it in really good, and leaving it on for a least a good 10-15mins. If ur hair is course though or very thick leave it on for at least a good 15-20mins. I know a lot of ppl are thinking, "OMG YUCK, but a lot of Spanish and black ppl use this method at least once a month as a conditioner" More Spanish women use it though! And I know this cause I have a lot of Spanish friends! Although I don't use this method as often as I should, I still use it, whenever I have enough energy to, put in all the work that it takes to make the mixture! Or if u don't want to do all that mixing go to a hair store or a store that sales hair products and buy Queen HelenE's Cholesterol Hair Conditioning Cream. They also have one that's made with Carrots! Well, all that's left to say now is good luck!:)

What? To lighten your hair? Sun-in will wreck your hair it has metalics in it. When you go to color your hair or perm your hair down the road, It will heat up and smoke. Ive seen it happen a lot! Just wait and make an appt. with a stylist for today! Thats the fastest!

Well for brown hair you are supposed to use apple cider vinegar instead of lemon juice, but I doubt you have that lying around...ask your mom if you have sun-in spray - it helps to lighten your hair.

Why can't you just buy a box of hair dye? Or get a bottle of peroxide and with a cotton ball use it on some strands of hair to get some highlights. Be careful with peroxide, it'll burn your hair if left too long.

That depends on what you're looking for it to do. If you're looking to lighten your hair, I'd suggest sun-in. It lightens it with sun AND heat, and as hot as it is, you should have really good results! Keep it conditioned, because it can get dry.
