... future can be found in christian prophecy books...because christians in power are actually trying to 'fullfill' the prophecies?
Kind of using the religion to get the people on side. Winning the hearts and minds of their own people. the Sword and the Gospel.
In a way... The beast and his false Prophet. Hal Lindseys,Franklin graham and so on, are the false prophets.
I have heard christians discuss actually not hindering the 'end times' prophecies, so as to not delay the return of Jesus.
Its interesting in a way, maybe the future can be found in 'Revelations' but not because any 'God' is in on it.
You cant say that the American and British governments were not aware, that going into Iraq/Babylon, sends christians(their supporters) wild with Armageddon fevor.
Is it supposed to be coincidence that Many christian teachers prior to gulf war 1, were suddenly talking about a revived Babylon empire and how Saddam husein was trying to model himself after the old king.

Yes, it's reasonable. Just look at the history of what happened in the formation of Israel in 1948. That was clearly an act of eschatologists trying to set the stage for the return of Jesus.

If they really just wanted to compensate German Jews, they would have just given them Germany! That would have been the proper form of justice.

The reason why prophecies come true is that they are written to be vague enough to cover many possibilities. It is a well known trick among charlatan psychics to give a general statement and let people do the interpreting themselves. I asked once for some examples of the prophecies that are coming true. I was told "wars, fathers against sons, mothers against daughters, earthquakes". Clearly, those are incredibly vague. You give people a little guidance and then let them supply the details that are relevant to them themselves.

It is not necessarily that these people are bad (though some certainly are), it is just that they take a rock and turn it into a mountain. Sure, the Biblical prophecies will come true, many, many times. What is the "dome on the rock" anyway? You could turn that into all kinds of things.

Well there is no way for any human being or groups of human beings to hinder or encourage the return of Christ...its simply not up to us. Christ will return when he is ready and no one will ever know when that will be. The idea that people can manipulate this outcome is very foolish. It would be best for a Christian to live their lives as if he will come back at any second and not give another worry about the end of the world. The people who exploit other people with this kind of talk are false prophets and should not be take seriously. We simply do not know how events will affect things and people have been talking about the end of the world since the time of Jesus. Its best not to even consider it.

I can not say I had coniccered it like that but there may be some truth in it but I certainly do not think the idea of war sends christians wild with pleasure only with fear and dread
