My wife has a really bad black eye, and ive heard that a really cold steak would help the swelling go down.

I pray that you are kidding and do not really mean this as a truth. If this is true, I hope you have repented for your actions, your wife forgiven you and appointments have been made immediately for the two of you to seek counsel. There is no justification for a man OR a woman to lay hands on their mate. God has not placed us together to hurt each other in this way. We must maintain control of our emotions and walk away. Do the right thing - take her to the hospital and allow the medical professionals to review her case. She could have more than just a black eye. There are vessels which can cause bleeding that we cannot see in the eye, there are retina problems that might occur - vision, coloring, and other things that can go on in the back of the eye. Since we are not doctors or professionals, if you love your wife and want to make these matters more positive, forget the steak - it's a crock -let her see a doctor. This is in no way a condemnation or judging to you, but a way of encouragement to help you and your wife rebuild your relationship and for you to see that your anger must be controlled and eliminated.

Why did you hit her with the steak? Take a cold bag of ice and put it on her eye. You should be nicer to your wife because if it weren't for woman you wouldn't be here!!!
