Why are terrorist/ji-hadist such *******? (Sorry to use that term)?

Question

If their goal is to be a martyr, why do they rely on guerilla tactics? The leaders always run and hide in holes, caves, and underground shelters. Why can't they be men and actually lead the charge like a hero would. I'm just curious because that is the message they are portraying to the arab/muslim community yet their actions are those of a pussy. (Again sorry I had to use that term but that's what I think of them.)

Well...These terrorist leaders are the biggest cowards... They are the biggest sadists...who don't like others living happily.
