Marrying four wives and bearing a number of children is the trick to spread that religious founder's religion worldwide so that one day the world so full of his followers that other religions will vanish with time.

In Biblical times, polygamy was practiced widely. Yet each polygamous family portrayed in the Bible is unhappy. Whether the problem is the rivalry between Rachel and Leah, the two sisters married to Jacob, or between Hannah and Peninnah, both married to Elkanah, or the conflicting demands by David’s many wives and their feuding children, the biblical authors subtly points out the disadvantages of a polygamous marriage.
In contrast, Sarah and Abraham form a distinctly monogamous marriage within a polygamous culture, as do Rebecca and Isaac. In the Garden of Eden, too, we have one woman and one man. The narrative makes clear that an intense relationship between husband and wife in a polygamous marriage is nearly impossible. The presence of multiple, contending wives dilutes all the relation-ships within the family unit. The Bible strongly implies that polygamy does not work, that monogamy is a preferable structure. The intensely committed personal and loving relationship between one male and one female parallels the intensely committed relationship between on human and God.

I think that polygamy is wrong. Based from sociology and anthropology classes that I've taken, I know that polygamy can be useful for economic and governmental purposes but I still see it as wrong. I think love should come first. Having 5 different wives/husbands is just not right.

well to make it short if u go through our Indian history ul find that rich people of those times used to have more than 1 wife.it was considered a status symbol in society. but if u take the same case theses days ul find that most of people marry with more than 1 wife only to get dowry from them and get easy money.but trust nothing is better than monogamy in our society.it helps in maintaining love between spouses and their clans. children's gets more attention and they get a happy life.its good for individual and society.also for courts cause there r lots lots of family cases pending in courts which r yet to be solved.

I can't fathom having more than one wife simultaneously, even though from the outside looking in, there are some aspects of that arrangement that could be ...interesting. But for me, that would be a curse rather than a blessing, when I'm honest about the fact.

Yeah....so what's your question again? Oh right, you didn't ask a question. You just used this as an opportunity to get on your soap box and rant. Joy for you, moron.
