my dog is very very tired, and she is continuosly sleeping. she is like that often, but not this tired. she is a medium sized mixed breed almost 6 years old. her nose is very dry and warm. it doesnt appear to be very serious, but might it be a small doggy cold or something?

You should take her to the Vet. If she isn't eating all of her meals you should take her quickly. Some dogs get a little slower around 6. My vet recommends a comprehensive check up at that age. Is it hot where you live. A dog will often lay on the ground in the heat to conserve energy and feel cooler. But don't take any chances, go to the Vet.

It sounds like this has been going on for at least a couple of days. The dry warm nose makes me worry a bit. I would play it safe and call your vet. Meanwhile, bring the dog in if she is outside, offer her water in case she is dehydrated (don't force anything on her, though). Try to remember back to when you first noticed this happening and give as many details to the vet as you can.

Sounds like it could be leading to kennel cough. Yes, take her to the vet. And make sure she's getting enough exercise, but don't overheat her this time of the year. Or it could be the diet she's on. Lack of exercise and/or the wrong diet can give any dog kennel cough and other problems. I'd contact a vet as soon as possible. <3

Take her to the vet. Excessive sleeping can be a sign of serious illness. Any change in behavior like that can be a sign something is wrong. Get her a check up.

Sleeping more than normal was the first sign my dog had cancer. (She's fine now, thank goodness. It was caught early.)

She could have a thyroid problem...animals do get this and listlessness is a symptom.

Take her to the vet and have her examined to be sure there is nothing going on inside...another possibility is intestinal parasites...if she is vomiting, or her bowel movements are infested with worms or are bloody and loose as well...don't mess with this and get her seen as soon as you can.

Don't try deworming her yourself, if she is really sick...she could get worse by deworming a sick pup. Vet is the only real solution here.

Good luck and hope she feels better soon. Now go call the vet!

She might have a cold but if her nose is dry then that means she is dehydrated. Make sure she has plenty of water if she is not better take her to the vet.

You need to take her to a vet--this could lead to something serious if not checked out. Something is very wrong for a dog still fairly young.

With a dry nose? Definantly take her to the vet immeadiatly!!! Dogs should never have dry noses. There may not appear to be anything wrong with her but just like my grandma's dog there could be horrible things wrong with her. Then again there might not be. Don't beat yourself up about it, just do what your gut tells you to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take her to a vet, my dog just ate a sock and had the same symptoms, it had to be removed, she was very dehydrated, and sick. Don't
wait.

What your describing is usually called "lethargy". If this is sudden and extreme, I would have a vet check her out. Being lethargic is a symptom of serious illness or cancer.
