It can, but Mr. C. also believed in the superior and inferior man. Don't think those labeled inferior would like being lord over by someone designated as superior. I wouldn't. Matter of fact, I'd start a riot!

I think the Taoists moved away from the strict traditionalism of confucianism after observing the utter folly of control. Some people like to follow rules of moral behavior while others find tranquility in being with things just as they appear. In the end, every person is having their own experience, and that cannot be predicted or changed.
