Why is it in America we have this huge double standard about sexuality. On the one hand, Sex is in everything, movies, books, TV, magazines, etc, yet when you show a breastfeeding mom on the cover of a magazine you want to cry foul?....This is absurd.

I think it's sad.

(I speak as a woman who has no children as yet.)

People really need to grow up! Do you mean to tell me that it is the worst thing you have seen in this day and age? What about page 3 models, all you need to do is open a newspaper at the bottom shelf (where kids can reach them) and the "boobies" are in your face! Oh sorry! That doesn't count, that's somehow acceptable but a woman feeding her baby is such a huge issue! Sorry that you think its immoral but whether you believe in GOD or a god or evolution, the reason why women's "boobies are that big is for their babies not you, so get over it!" You act as though you have never seen boobs before. I'm sorry you won't like what I have said but Grow up!

Why is this an issue of religion? I'm Christian and I'm not particularly offended by the picture, it's natural, women breastfeed get over it. Celebrities and non-celebrities alike show more skin than that on a daily basis and the rest of the population seems to find no fault with that. Why is there all the fuss about this magazine cover? Everybody needs to start boycotting People magazine, Vogue, Redbook, etc. if they think that photo is bad.

That's what breasts were made for. But yes, I am surprised that any media outlet would dare to show an honest picture like that in the face of the uptight PC Police. And the irony is that I've seen worse on the cover of People Magazine!

Everything is considered too taboo in the US. I personally don't think there is anything wrong with that picture. It is completely natural. And the point that someone made in the article about celebrities practically baring their breasts on public television vs. a picture of natural use of the breasts to feed a baby is a really good point. No one seems to protest against the Vogue magazine showing nude women with sexual conotations.

Oh! And it's so revealing too! Thank goodness it only shows the one breast, could you imagine if the other were visible? It would be like seeing someone in a bikini, or a music video. Heaven forbid! But, we can rest easier knowing that 5000 people from the heartland were 'embarrassed' and 'offended' enough to lodge complaints. America is so safe.

Why is it that we now have a higher tolerance for pornography, homeosexuality, and everything immoral but not what we had started out with? That is terrible! And it is not like it is all of the breast either, just a side view of something natural!

Looking at your history of questions.. what IS your problem with christians? Is your life really that... that.... I don't know the right word.. but do you really find satisfaction from trying to mock christians/religion in general? Have you really let a few bad eggs in the world of christianity tarnish your perception and stereotyping that much?

I'm sorry for you.

What is that woman doing to her baby? My babies were all raised the natural way, using premium formula in a sanitized plastic bottle. Has she no idea how dirty people can be? I sure hope she washed herself well, (and the nipper too) before behaving in such a strange way.
